How old are you and when did you start enjoying jazz?

What kind of jazz do you enjoy?

What do you enjoy about it? How do you experience it? What kinda headspace does it fill?

(Fwiw I'm not a jazz enjoyer, just driving home listening to R3, trying to "get it" and somewhat frustrated I can't... I think I'd like to)

The type that's just a cacophony of noise..nope.

Love it. Stuff like Oscar Peterson or Billie or one of the coolest cats of them all, Jimmy McGriff. My favorite sound is a trio with a Hammond B3.

Acid jazz and Take 5 is as far as I go. Pure jazz is a bit like dark chocolate to me. Worthy but not much fun.

I would usually have a knee jerk reaction to it and say it sounds like the devils fart noise - but if you play me something like Ella and Nina then I'm transported - I guess I don't know enough jazz.

There was an in joke there too. Brody was asked if he liked Jazz and he said he knew nothing about it. Damian Lewis who played Brody, was a jazz musician before becoming an actor and he still plays.
I've noticed he's a natural dancer too.
