It’s not that expensive but I always feel a bit fancy buying it….there’s probably other things that make me feel the same. Olives I think too…

Same. And posh biscuits. Maybe a class thing?

We always have cream in the fridge because OH has it in his morning coffee every morning. I have clotted cream in the fridge which needs using up, didnt use it for the dish I wanted it for and its been there for a while although those things never bother me

Olives - we have a plethora of olives. We have some massive green ones, stone in. I have some very small Italian black ones in olive oil. We have some basic green stuffed with red pepper in brine, and some green ones stuffed with anchovy. Those are all 'on the go' at the moment. Once they're used up we'll replace them. I have olives most days.

Seems like you don't have anything worth actually worrying about - lucky you!!

If you want to buy cream and can afford to do so then what's the issue??? Seems like a question that people would be furtively asking in 1943.

It’s not decadent! Clotted cream now….

Is clotted cream actually worse for you or something? Creamier? Why does it feel more decadent? True, it has been heat treated and in these days of expensive energy I suppose that makes it like gold plated cream...
But the voluptuous pouriness of double cream makes it seem decadent-er to me
