To tell employer to shove it up their bum?

I applied for a summer camp coach job (6wk assignment) earlier this year and was offered the role at the beginning of March. I accepted and followed all of the HR requirements, filling in an availability form end of March. Part of the offer includes free child care whilst coaching. In May they sent another availability form again because other hires had asked to change their availability. I hadn't changed mine so didn't fill in another one. Since then I've been emailing HR and the camp director over various things as well as completing all the relevant training, and filling in/providing 25+ documents. I was emailed 6 weeks ago to say we would receive confirmation of our assignments (campus/which weeks) on the 10th June. Then to say it had been delayed a week. I've not heard anything & each time I've emailed the camp director just says she's making some changes to the team & will let me know ASAP. Mandatory training starts on Friday this week - i was told it would be in the afternoon. Yesterday I've received 2 calendar invites for mandatory online training for Friday morning. Camp begins in 2 weeks. Am I right to just tell them to shove it as this stage? It seems like a shit show. I do have a freelance job and turned down other freelance contracts to be free for this role. I also will need to arrange alternative childcare if I'm not teaching. I just need to know. I can't really make any plans unless I know.

Also just to add. I'm on holiday from Saturday. I planned it before I was told about the mandatory training on Friday so I had to change my travel plans to travel on the Saturday (to family) rather than the Friday evening as I'd been told that the inperson training was 3 to 6pm. However I've only received calendar invite (yesterday) for online training on Friday morning.

They sound like a nightmare tbh. Inconsiderate and chaotic with bad communication, it doesn't sound like a recipe for a great experience. Unless you have a specific reason for wanting to do this job, if you can skip it without leaving yourself out of pocket I definitely would

I get that it’s frustrating but honestly I was expecting something terrible for that reaction. It sounds as though all they’ve done is been delayed a week in assignments because other staff have messed them about, and made a mistake on the training time. If you don’t want to job then that’s your right but it seems an over reaction

I agree with the first poster OP, they sound very disorganised, and if they can't organise things at this stage, you could end up out of pocket over the whole thing. I'd tell them I'm no longer interested and why.

Thanks that's what I'm thinking that I will probably end up out of pocket and its not worth the hassle. They are 2 weeks behind schedule with giving me the assigned weeks/campus. They aren't responding to any emails. HR have helped as much as they can but the course director is so disorganised, every deadline she has given since the beginning has been missed by a week. Calendar invites sent out then resent with time amendments. The same form being sent out multiple times. Most people have jobs so it's a big ask to expect someone to drop everything at 2 days notice to attend mandatory training. The only bonus was the free childcare offered but I need to be able to plan and I can't do that right now - gp appointments, solicitor appointment etc. I think if she doesn't have the courtesy just to reply then I can't be bothered.

I'm going to end up out of pocket anyway because I had to pay £250 for certificates for my HR file and they are supposed to be reimbursed but presumably not if I pull out.
