Blimey. That’s so similar to the one with 6k votes which was put on Lego Ideas in October 2024.

I like the lotus flowers. I might have to get them tomorrow because tomorrow is Lego shopping day!

I’m not sure about the Monet set. Compared to the Starry Night it looks a bit lame. I have always had a strong emotional attachment to the two Van Gogh starry night pictures. Monet is pretty but there’s no stirring in my soul when I look at them. Maybe if Don McLean had written a ballad about a Monet painting I might feel differently.
I don’t like the sea otter either. Looks weird and I adore otters. The same applies to the tuxedo and ginger cats. We all like different things and that’s a good thing. I am really looking forward to the X-files set being released. I wonder if it will have a GWP and what it might be? Maybe Scully’s desk and computer where she writes up her notes and musings. Or Mulder’s room with his couch where he sleeps.
I might have mentioned it but I got myself the Orient Express back in December. It’s still in the shipping box and the dc don’t know I’ve got it, nor does my mum. I’m 50 this year and it’s my present to myself. I’m going to ask for Lego for my birthday obviously and save for the X-files set.
Dd’s boyfriend bought her the pink roses and we spent a lovely hour and a half building them tonight. She has shown very little interest in Lego up to now but has humoured me and built small amounts of family sets. It’s amazing the difference a boyfriend can make! She just needs a pretty vase now although they are temporarily housed in one that she might decide is ok. They are very shiny flowers as are the tulips. Very bright and Bonny and make us smile.

A successful day for us. We’ve got 3 of the castle GWPs now. I wish the discovery centre had had something more exciting for the GWP. The castles aren’t going for much on eBay so it’s not worth selling. I wonder if we can make it into one big castle.

It depends what other "spares" you have - I'd guess quite a bit? And you'd need a base plate.

If you've a load of floral bits n pieces, maybe a taller castle tower ruin with gardens below?

DH has been building some of his old sets at the moment. He has quite a few of the space sets.

Anyone else have lots of vintage lego?

@MigGirl My mum gave all of mine to my cousins kids...I had the crater baseplates and a few of the space-y things. 🚀

I’m not sure about this one. I’d have to see it in person but so far it’s more than likely a pass. What do you all think?

Anyone else got a birthday coming up? I've got a code for a free lego "cake", but even though it's accepted, it doesn't show up in the basket - and if you read the small print the offer ended 31/12/25.

I'm discussing Lego with around 20 in a Zoom session. They love the otters and want a Wallace & Grommit set. One was a Lego official builder in his student years

I finally saved up enough money to buy the Natural History Museum, which was my most coveted set!

I’m going to keep it aside for my birthday, which isn’t for another couple of months though.

Very happy to get the Field Flowers GWP too, since I really wanted it.

So excited!

I really want the duck family gwp, so I'm hoping that's available when I go to the lego store next month. Then it's deciding what to buy while remembering that I take the train to get there!
