Clothing item on Vinted arrived bobbly

I have used Vinted for a long time and usually have a good experience. I have 5 star rating etc.

A dress today arrived. Bought for 12 pounds. It is bobbly all over the chest area (I'm assuming the seller wore a jacket over it, causing the damage)

Should I bother with raising the issue or just chalk it up to experience? I wouldn't sell it on as I don't think others would buy it like this

(I'm attaching two photos but it's hard to see)

I'd just remove the bobbles with a fabric shaver. Not a big deal.

Elmo230885 · 24/06/2025 21:12

I suppose it depends how it was listed and what it would cost new.
I presume the listing didn't mention bobbling.

BurntBroccoli · 24/06/2025 21:13

Did the photos show this? If not and there was no mention I would just contact the seller.

Wanderdust · 24/06/2025 21:15

I hate Vinted for this! My idea of "very good" condition compared to others wildly differs!

Gardendiary · 24/06/2025 21:19

I think it’s depends on the listing. If it said new without tags then absolutely, if it was good then fair enough. I don’t think I would describe that as excellent either, but it is so subjective outside of new with tags.

LuckyAquaExpert · 24/06/2025 21:21

It said very good condition. Only worn a couple of times. No mention of bobbling and she wrote a lovely note with the package (which is pushing me towards just forgetting it)

Debobble - and chalk it up to experience.

Tiredofwhataboutery · 24/06/2025 21:22

I’d chalk it up to experience, was it described as good? You can shave it with a normal razor put flat on ironing board and hold taute with one hand and shave.

Pearlz · 24/06/2025 21:31

For the price that not good, especially if no mention. I think I would leave it though

IReallyLoveItHere · 24/06/2025 21:46

Everyone's idea of 'very good' is different. You can try to raise an issue but if not expensive I'd just forget it.

I only spend good money on items described as new and have returned several very easily because they have signs of wear.

Summerhillsquare · 25/06/2025 04:41

I always report and return. Sets the tone for the place, and stops sellers getting sloppy.

Therealmetherealme · 25/06/2025 04:44

It happens with worn clothes. I wouldn’t argue it. The photos don’t really support your case. Get a little machine to debobble if it bothers you.

Wolmando · 25/06/2025 04:47

I wouldn't buy something second hand online because of this, best to use a charity shop where you see the goods, maybe she thought it was very good condition.

Blodyneighbour · 25/06/2025 05:02

Since she wrote you a nice little note I'd just leave it and chalk it up to experience and de bobble.

TurnThatLightOn · 25/06/2025 05:23

I've had a couple of cardigans that turned up very bobbled. Unwearable for me. I put it down to experience and I just won't buy knitwear again. Charity shops are preferable as you can see what you're getting.

LuckyAquaExpert · 25/06/2025 15:18

Thanks for the comments. I think I will just leave it. Would be different if it had a hole

It's also hard to photograph how bad it is, making it hard to prove
