Donald Trump likes to tell us how brilliant he is and how amazing everything he does is. His strikes on Iran were a stupendous mega-success. His tariffs are single-handedly the greatest economic move in the history of the universe. He’s removing more illegal immigrants than every American President in history ever, ever.

But is this just front, or does he believe all this stuff? In private, is he reflective and wracked by self-doubt? Is it all a front to project a strongman image?

He's a genuine megalomaniac. No I don't think he reflects much because he is adamant he is right. On some level I suspect he is grateful for his privilege and position but in the sense that 'I'm so lucky the world got to notice how great I am' . I believe he is delusional and in that sense you could say he knows no better. It's the people propping him up that should be ashamed of themselves.

Nah, absolutely zero self inspection, shallower than a 1mm deep puddle x total and absolute arrogance.

However, I know that when Bill Maher, who had been quite critical of Trump, had dinner with him, he said he seemed like a completely differernt person than you see in the media, from the way he spoke and used language, to openly admitting he lost the previous election.

It's a front but he doesn't consciously know it is. He has trained himself to believe these delusions, as all narcissists do. They have to believe them in order to have anything resembling a personal identity, so anything that contradicts their delusions presents as an existential threat. Subconsciously he feels like a loser because of his emotionally abusive father, who both coddled him and mistreated him. Mary Trump has the deets on that and she has a Youtube channel. Trump's insecurity is why he's so sensitive to criticism and easily triggered into a raging social media shitfit. He almost certainly has a pretty low IQ, which doesn't help matters.

I listened to the "Trumped" podcast and his reactions to anyone and anything that he didn't agree with was mind blowing, including the law and Scotland full stop.

I then thought of how he has treated his own family.

It is very clear that if it doesn't make him look good then he isn't interested in thinking about it. He is a weak shallow individual and he cannot deal with any negative feelings about himself.

He is a malignant narcissist and he is rich. Thats the only way someone with a average level of intelligence can get into a position like the President of the US. He doesn't spend any time thinking about how his actions affects other people. That frees up alot of time and energy.

Most other world leaders are also narcisissts but that is balanced have a higher level of intelligence so they actually are able to lead, even if they behave terribly behind the scenes.

Trump only has one techniquq- which is brinkmanship i.e. extreme behaviour so the other party back down. It will wear thin very very quickly and can be easily exploited.

The mental image of the Don wringing his hands at end of day, ruminating on ICE/Bunker Busters/arming Israel's atrocities in Gaza. Wondering anxiously if he had made the right choices. Listening to a self critical inner monologue and questioning his place in the world.
