to be bloody annoyed that staff in Pizza Express have just looked me up and down and sneered at me before telling me in their most patronising tones that they were fully booked?

am bloody sick of people making assumptions about me because i am under 30 and have more than one child.

i have 3. big deal.

that does not make me uneducated, inferior, unclean or anything else that apparently Pizza Express do not approve of.

i should have booked. fair point. but the sneering glance - proper top to toe superior snooty down-the-nose type - and over patronising tones were TOTALLY UNECESSARY!!!!

i am pissed off.

and waiting for dominos to deliver.

thank you for listening.

I've never been in your shoes as I was 32 and 34 when I had my children, but I really would have thought that the staff were just being lazy, dreading having to get down on their hands and knees to clear up bits of food, to wipe the walls and to mop up at least one spilt drink and to try and facilitate the other cranky childfree couple who might be glaring at you and nagging the staff for another table............

CitroenDrivingFootballMum · 23/05/2008 19:56

i didn't think you could book either! hence the lack of bookage in the first place!

kayz

well, dominos was very nice, it has to be said, especially as we also ordered dessert (extra extra special treat) - brownies with dippy stuff.

all i need to do now is escort the 2 older ones up to bedfordshire and a glass of red wine is mine mine mine

You can't book in Pizza Express round here unless you are one of their paid up members - not many people are.

They are always busy. There is always a long wait. Unless it's say Monday lunchtime in term-time.

CitroenDrivingFootballMum · 23/05/2008 20:05

ElizabethBeresford - i am the table manners pedant of my area - the Pizza Express staff would have been begging us to return to set and example to the other chavtastic juveniles in there...

It was a hilarious thread. It started off that moondog's nanny took the children to macdonalds... then it got on to different types of fast food, chips with 'gism' on them as they are affectionately known in ireland (chips with flavoured mayo for the rest of the world). Potatoes with EVERY meal in Ireland. Roosters. You live in north Dublin! You see, every time I change my screen name I just risk revealing my identity again. I wouldn't make a good secret agent.

I've asked them to do that now. I like this screen name now. I've only had it about 5 minutes!
