Talk to me about where you put your teenagers stinky football boots, where do you store them? They can smell the whole house out lol

We have a low drawer cabinet in our utility which sports stuff goes in! Each member of the family has an upper (clothing items) and lower (stinky shoes) drawer. When the kids have a sports club they know where to grab their kit from.

a more space saving solution might be one of those ikea show storage cabinets that go up against the wall and have four sections which sort of tip open. I think they are part of the hemnes range.

if you think the shoes would still smell bad throigh a drawer then you could try an outdoor bench with a lift up seat that has storage under it. We have one in grey plastic that looks ok. Wetsuits and water shoes go in it and haven’t got wet or mouldy etc in two years despite being in there all winter

I have to wear safety boots for work and mine pong ! So they get put outside as soon as I get home and sprayed with kiwi shoe deponger <(not its real name )
Them in the evening brought in and put in a plastic storage box that I got from wilkos many years ago.
The box gets washed and dried outside every few weeks too.

Smelly boots and shoes can be treated with a thimble full of potassium permanginate. Can also sterilise water for drinking. Was used in world war 1 to counteract trench foot fungal infections. So safe you can drink it but it is a powerful oxidizer and very cheap at around six pounds for 200 grams.
Do not store it anywhere near liquid glycerine. Learned about it in school, and in the armed forces

Cat litter (in an old sock) in the boot gets rid of the smell.

Box of doom.
Large plastic storage box with lid and one of those uni bond 360 moisture absorbers in it. Most of dc shoes are in it

Baking soda works well.

Same here but it lives outside . . .

Its in his bedroom as his precious (ridiculously expensive) boots cannot be out of his sight 😂

Oh bless. Mine used to insist on sleeping in their boots (when they were new) when they were little!

We use something called ‘Boot Bananas’ from Amazon. Works a treat on teenage boys trainers post PE/sports & anyone else’s general shoe pongyness, especially when left over night. Not the cheapest product but got a pair in September & haven’t looked back.

Majority of shoes are left in the front porch & we sometimes leave the porch door slightly open for “airflow”.

Not sure if this link works but they are pretty easy to find on Amazon.

My DS’s football boots stunk, made the house smell like cats had peed on every surface.
We tried everything, cat litter, tea bags the lot but nothing worked, in the end I bought a storage box for outside, they really were that bad
