Do you think schools should relax uniforms policies re hot weather

Going to be 26-31c for the rest of the month. My friend’s DD’s academy has told pupils and parents that they are not allowed to remove blazers in lessons (bar PE).

This is ridiculous. Bet the female teachers are wearing light floaty dresses, skirts and short sleeve tops. Male teachers - short sleeve shirts and a lighter coloured trousers.

Why do schools expect the pupils to wear a blazer?

My teen's school have asked them all to wear their (branded) PE kit in while the weather is hot.

My little ones' school have said non-uniform. They are currently in holiday wear and very happy!

The younger ones school are going ahead with sports day today, but only in the morning. They've cancelled the afternoon. They've put up gazebos to keep the kids in shade between activities.

"There is a reason why the vast majority of schools with the best results have strict uniforms, including blazers and ties."

Camden Girls , a non uniform state school gets brilliant results with many of their pupils going to Oxford or Cambridge.

And what do you think a single case shows, and why??

Is there a study showing a strong correlation between the strictness of the uniform policy and results?
Is it normalised for other factors?
Is there any indication that it is precisely the uniform, and not anything else, which drives performance?
Is there any indication that, should uniform policy be relaxed, performance would collapse?

You're challenging a poster who agrees with you...

Apologies, I thought you meant to say it was a uniform school. I see it's not. My bad.
The point about a single case being irrelevant stands.
