Normal 2 year old behaviour?

My 2 year old has been saying some weird things recently and I’ve no idea if it’s normal.
We were in the car the other day and he started saying ‘mummy crash the car’ over and over again. He was getting really annoyed with me when I was saying no.
I don’t even know how he knows what crashing a car means.

He also came home from nursery yesterday saying ‘I want to bang my head’ over and over again. He pushed one of his toys over and I said something along the lines of ‘Oo dont do that, your toy will break’ and he started saying ‘ I want to break my toys’ over and over again.
Not as worrying but 50% of the time when he is eating he tries to tip his food on the floor saying ‘I want to tip it out’.
He gets really annoyed when we stop him. I’ve tried to ask him why he wants to do these things but he obviously doesn’t have the vocabulary yet to explain.

Is this normal? I’m trying not to be worried about this seemingly destructive thoughts.

He's only 2. So his only experience, thoughts or vocabulary at this stage will be based on what he's seen or heard.

Eg it's quite common for small children to play at crashing cars. They like the effect of seeing the toy cars roll over or bounce. And, other than push them around, what else can you do with toy cars?

He doesn't have any concept of the effect of cars crashing irl so he doesn't know its different. He just thinks it would be fun to watch. Because he's 2.

At this age, children are all about exploring cause and effect. They're looking to see if the same thing will happen every time (like tipping food out).

If you're worried, mention it to nursery. They'll have a far better idea about what he's seen/heard from other, maybe older, children at nursery which might explain it.

It might be his first attempt at matching words and action. I have come across a couple of doozies at this point.

Leave it for a couple of weeks. If its a phase, development will keep moving forward and this will be behind you before you know it.

My 2 yr old tipped his cereal inside his chair this morning lol I think it’s normal, although inconvenient and annoying. So is crashing the cars. Oh and a few weeks ago he saw a short clip of a child banging their head to a wall and crying to get hugs, guess what he did? Your DS could have seen it anywhere especially in nursery with others and just be copying
