I booked a Jet2 flight through Booking.com and regretting it right now, wish I’d booked directly

When I booked my flight, booking.com confirmed via email with my flight details. Including a flight number, booking number, and an automatically generated email address that I’d need to use to check-in with. (See screenshots below, which includes their explanation of why my personal email has not been used)

As I fly tomorrow morning, check in has opened. I checked in via a link to the Jet2 website which Booking.com emailed me.

All fine, entered passport details, allocated seat. Good so far.

Now in order to download the boarding pass it’s telling me I need to download the Jet2 app.
Downloaded Jet2 app, and it’s asking for the booking email. I provided the automatically generated email, which booking.com said id need to check in. And the app tells me they need to verify my email and have sent a code to said email… but of course, I do not have access to this?! It’s a made up email by Booking.com

i logged in via my personal email, hoping that would work. Verified my personal email, logged in and when I select “add booking” and enter the booking number, an error message pops up “The booking email address does not match the account email address” Well of course is doesn’t?!

I can’t get my boarding pass and I’m stressing out.

See screenshots below.

Has anyone dealt with this before??

Don’t worry OP. Jet 2 are lovely and will print it at the airport for you. Go early though. Queues can be long but do move swiftly

Recently I booked a flight on another airline through Booking dot com, for the first and last time. As well as the long Booking dot com reference, they sent me an 8-digit number as the airline booking reference. But airline booking codes are 6 (or very occasionally 7) characters, letters and numbers, like ZHK4N2.

I contacted Booking dot com's support chat and they said "Oh for a flight you have to contact these other people", with a number to call that told me how important my call was to them (answer: not important enough to hire anyone to pick up the phone after half an hour).

So I went to the airline website. It said "Did you make the booking directly with us or a travel agent?". Well, I didn't book through them, so it must be an agent, but guess what, Booking dot fucking com wasn't on there. In the end I said that I had booked direct and was able to enter my last name, flight number, and e-mail address, and it worked, and there was my proper flight code. Maybe it would have all worked at the airport, but this has put me off using Booking dot com again to reserve a flight, because I might not be that lucky next time.

When B.com set up this email address for you, everything that is sent to that address will appear in your Booking.com account. Log into your booking.com account, go to messages.

Just to say I had a Jet2 flight recently, I downloaded the boarding passes but they printed them off as standard for me anyway, no cost. You’ll be fine!

Jet 2 are my favourite airline at the moment - definitely the most helpful, and nicest to fly with.

I had this with Ryanair once, I just contacted them and they talked me through the (overly complicated) process

pontivex · 18/06/2025 08:30

I’ve flown a million times with airlines around the world where I’ve downloaded boarding passes and then lost them or had an out of battery phone. Just go to the machine or check in desk. If machine you can usuallly print with no cost.
Either way you won’t not get on a flight. They may charge but you’ll get your boarding pass

Presumably you've downloaded booking.com's dedicated app thing? Have you checked the internal messages on the app? That's what the weird email address probably is. Or yes, echo you'll be fine printing them at the airport. Enjoy your lovely holiday Op!

Daffodilsinspring1 · 18/06/2025 08:36

Probably not helpful for you but when I booked through love holidays something similar happened. They provided an email address to use to check in via RyanAir. I didn't work (so I was never able to check in with the provided email, unlike you) and I ended up just putting in my normal email and it worked. It's so confusing though and I ended up stressing that I wouldn't be able to book in.
