We still have a panettone, some Xmas chocolates, mini eggs and an Easter Egg in this house.

OneFineDay13 · 18/06/2025 22:21

I would eat it

Home made stollen?

Now you're talking, recipe please?

I will post it later on today for you 😄

MauriceTheMussel · 18/06/2025 22:22

I’m pregnant and have now unlocked my first craving

OldGothsFadeToGrey · 18/06/2025 22:25

We are too. It’s still good.

Also says does not freeze. Freezes -land defrosts fine IMO. I always have an emergency freezer stollen for September.

Gummy7 · 18/06/2025 22:28

I'm amazed at all of you who still have Christmas desserts and Easter eggs in your homes in June. Chocolate and cakes last no time at all in this household😋

Fifthtimelucky · 18/06/2025 22:38

I still have some Christmas chocolate left. I also have a pack of mini mince pies in the freezer.

Last weekend I defrosted some leftover Christmas turkey and ham and made a pie with it. I think I may still have a bit left too.

Im still eating Christmas stollen
Ilovelowry · 19/06/2025 10:56

I threw out the Xmas cheese box from the fridge this week. Because the smell was becoming overwhelming every time I opened the fridge!

I always buy a cheese that everyone will like but only a sliver ever gets eaten of any of them. Then the remaining cheese sits in a sealed box in the drinks fridge until I throw it away in June.

I'll never learn.

MannequinsArePeopleToo · 19/06/2025 11:02

I say finish it up ASAP because it'll be back in the supermarkets in July and you can restock.

MauriceTheMussel · 19/06/2025 11:37

Ffs. I’ve just had a half hearted ice lolly and thought “slab of stollen. Cold salted butter on top. Perfection.”

Alas!

AmyDudley · 19/06/2025 11:39

When you say 'still eating' do you mean to the exclusion of all other foodstuffs because if so that's a fuck load of stollen, well done you and I hope you are washing it down with out of date Baileys.

If you are just nibbling a bit occasionally and that is why you still have some left then you are showing a pathological level of restraint and need help.

ShinyAppleDreamingOfTheSea · 19/06/2025 11:40

You are obviously being unreasonable - by the fact that you still have some left. And M&S stollen bites!

Mine were eaten way before Christmas Day 😢

Next time try cutting the cheeses into smaller portions and freezing some. We went on holiday for two weeks directly after Christmas so I have a full cheese board in my freezer. Wondering if it will still be OK for this December!

That's the problem.. We only eat cheese at Xmas so it would have to wait a year.
And I'm not sure runny French cheese likes being frozen 😂

Now I want stollen

That if I had some, I would be doing it too. So ner.

Whatwouldnanado · 19/06/2025 13:37

Envious. Crack on. I suspect nothing in it to go off.

Itawapuddytat · 19/06/2025 13:45

Just finished the Christmas Panettone - BBE June 2025. Right on time. It was delicious! Haven't started the chocolate Easter egg yet, plenty of time until September or October 😁

GrannyWeatherwaxsBroomstick · 19/06/2025 13:56

I just found some Dominosteine in a cupboard. DS is going to be so happy.

You're right, its a slight nibble now and then, there is definitely something wrong with me.
