my 2 week old has trapped wind during the day and seems to have diorreah during the evening. he wants to be on my breast all the time during these episodes. i’m worried i’ll run out of milk. can anyone give me advice on how to help my baby with his poorly tummy and how to not give him/ give him my breast without running out of milk.

You won't run out of milk, if baby is feeding a lot, your body will make more milk although it can take a little while for supply to increase. Is baby hungry or just sucking for comfort? You could try a dummy instead. Are you sure baby has diarrhoea? Breastfed new babies don't really have solid poo. Have you been shown how to wind baby after a feed to relieve the wind? You need to hold him upright supporting his head and stroke his back firmly in a upwards motion.

You won’t run out of milk lovely!
Your breasts are a factory, not a warehouse. As long as baby is latching, your body is getting the signal to make more milk all the time ❤️
When you say baby has diarrhoea….what do you mean? Generally, breastmilk poop is quite loose and very yellow.

You won’t run out of milk
Babies are fussy especially when they’re newborn
breast-fed babies have runnier poo than bottle fed baby
is your baby bringing up wind ?
also breast fed babies tend to cluster feed
your milk supply is still adjusting and the more you feed the better things will be over time

It may be normal - as others have said, runny poo is usual for breastfed babies and you won’t run out of milk.

but if baby is only 2 weeks old you should still be under midwife care so you can ring them tomorrow and ask for an appointment.

if you really do think he is ill then take him to A&E. They will triage such a tiny baby almost immediately and then you will know whether there’s anything to worry about.

Try him with either gripe water or colic drops. If he is more settled then you know its trapped wind/colic. Also let him feed as often as he wants, he's only 2 weeks he's still bringing your supply in x
