Airports in general or that one in particular? What are you nervous about?

JazzyBBBG · 17/06/2025 09:29

Years ago - like 20 years ago. Was basic but fine.

McCartneyOnTheHeath · 17/06/2025 09:30

I have. Standard airport experience as far as I remember.
Why are you nervous? Are you mixing it up with Marco Polo and worried about the landing?

Why are you nervous?

Hi1985 · 17/06/2025 09:41

Il nervous about it being a. Small and inexperienced airport and not an international airport( nervous flyer anyway)

It is an international airport, since flights land there from outside Italy. 🤨 Just because it's small doesn't mean it's badly organised or not safe.

Treviso is lovely. Just focus on that and don’t worry about the airport.

CountryQueen · 17/06/2025 09:55

What? They have millions of passengers every year. It’s not “inexperienced” and small airports are a good thing in my book.

CountryQueen · 17/06/2025 09:55

And of course it’s an international airport. Where are you flying from?!

mimbleandlittlemy · 17/06/2025 09:59

There is no such thing as an 'inexperienced' airport within the EU - they all have to comply to the same very high standards, but Treviso has been open as an international airport since the 1950s and had a revamp in 2007, so it's hardly a new kid on the block. RyanAir alone has about 7000 flights in and out of there a year, and in 2023 it had over three million passengers (all facts easy to find on Google and Wikipedia).

I always think small airports are much nicer to go to and from - far calmer for a start, which might help your nerves a bit.

I'm not familiar with Treviso, but generally I'd prefer to fly from a smaller airport, from a safety point of view. One of the biggest risks in air travel is that of a collision with another aircraft in the air or on the ground during landing or take-off. This is much less likely to happen when there are 20-40 flights per day (e.g., Cardiff Airport) than when there are 1300 flights (Heathrow).

Treviso is fine , unmemorable
