Naked bike ride

Was in London yesterday: naked bike ride. Fine.. not my thing (or many other women). They finished the ride/protest/whatvever and then conjugated near B palace.. and just seemed to be happy wafting their micro penis’s about for kicks and giggles/

A lot of horrid middle aged naked men kicking about just felt unnecessary.

and 🤮

@DoctorRoseReturns are you a naturist because this is the 2nd thread I've seen you defending mans rights to have their penis out?

I'm not pearl clutching, I just see you are very pro penis out.

Edited

I am defending anyone's right to their LEGAL right to be naked.

Table 2 on the spreadsheet here shows that the latest MoJ data records 91% of people prosecuted for sex offences are men. https://www.ons.gov.uk/peoplepopulationandcommunity/crimeandjustice/datasets/sexualoffendingministryofjusticeappendixtables

Where's your evidence that SA committed by women is less likely to be reported?

So that's not 96%

I'd call a naked man on a bike 'overt'.

I don't understand what you mean by women 'getting the hots' for men. It's one thing to see someone you fancy, fully clothed on the tube. But anyone, man or woman, who gets a sexual thrill from being naked around non-participating people is a boundary-violating creep. End of.

Just being naked on a bike is not overt sexual gratification.

How are you going to know that someone ‘gets a sexual thrill from being naked around non-participating people’ ? Can you read minds ?

DoctorRoseReturns · 16/06/2025 17:56

I’m confused as to the point you’re making.

Is it a) it’s an obvious matter of public decency that all men should be required to cover their penis in public which negates the need to justify it on a ‘penises can cause harm’ basis? Or
b) the fact that penises can cause harm is absolutely not a justification to require men to cover them because hands can also cause harm and we don’t require men to wear gloves?
Or c) the MRA approach which says that men should be allowed to do whatever they want all the time and women have no right to not be exposed to naked penises in public?

or have I misunderstand you completely and you’ve got a different point entirely?

I think my point is obvious

The argument penises should be covered because they "might" be used to cause harm is a silly one because lots of things which could cause harm are perfectly allowed to be seem

Anyone has the right to be naked in public, not just men.

Why aren't you also protesting seeing naked fannies?

Capillaryaction · 16/06/2025 17:56

Also if they'd have had BIGGER knobs it would have been ok?

That's precisely the point I'm making.

The law should be changed to make it an offence per se to be naked in public, because it's impossible to tell.

DoctorRoseReturns · 16/06/2025 17:58

SwimSwamSwimSwam · 16/06/2025 17:51

Are you a naturist?

No

I am just someone who thinks people's legal rights to live as they wish is something we need to defend

And someone who thinks that "this is wrong because it personally offends me" is a slippery slope for laws. Because the same argument can be made for religious expression, being openly gay, dressing flamboyantly/non conforming etc

TheScentOfElonMusk · 16/06/2025 18:00

"Anyone has the right to be naked in public, not just men"

It's not a 'right', it's just not illegal under certain circumstances. But it should be illegal under all circumstances.

ThePhantomoftheEcobubbleOpera · 16/06/2025 18:05

I've seen this 'right to be naked' a few times now. You know it isn't a right, right?

DoctorRoseReturns · 16/06/2025 18:06

TheScentOfElonMusk · 16/06/2025 17:54

91% of all sex offences.

But as @CautiousLurker01 posted, it's actually 98% of sexual assaults and rapes:
https://www.ons.gov.uk/peoplepopulationandcommunity/crimeandjustice/articles/natureofsexualassaultbyrapeorpenetrationenglandandwales/yearendingmarch2020

So, you are right that it's not 96%, it's more than 96%.

So there's lots of different figures depending how exactly you chose to look at it...

https://www.safealliance.org/blog/silent-struggle-why-men-are-less-likely-report/

It's well documented men don't report assault because of the ideas of "masculinty"

Oh and 1 in 18 men have been raped, which isn't an insignificant number, but they aren't crying out for men to cover up because just seeing a penis is assault....

The Silent Struggle: Why Men Often Don’t Report Abuse | Safe Alliance

One in 10 men  in the U.S. has experienced contact sexual violence, physical violence, or stalking by an intimate partner and suffered some form of related impact. The Centers for Disease Control confirms what so many quietly endure. But the reality of...

There's also no right not to see nudity but people are saying there is...

Naturists do have a right to live as they want within the law, as does anyone

The law should not be more controlling, else it opens up all sorts more

"Showing a bit of butt cheek is close enough to nudity"
"You're showing too much clevage and it's considered nudity"
"Well I'm offended to see the outline of a nipple through clothing so women need to wear more"

All of them actually since the definition of rape is non consensual penetration with a penis.

Hence my last point

And my point earlier than Rape can ONLY be a male crime because it involves a penis

But we don't have accurate numbers of female abusers because of the well known and considered (MN is very guilty of this) thought that women simply cannot do that...

And can you see your cognitive dissonance when you say that men underreported their sexual assaults because of shame in one breath and then comfort yourself that men who have been sexually assaulted don't complain about naked bicyclists in the next?

That's not cognitive dissonance

Men could complain about it from a different angle, regardless of what their real reason is

But then most of them are also apparently men...

DoctorRoseReturns · 16/06/2025 18:13

grumpygrape · 16/06/2025 18:09

Because a naked penis will launch itself at a woman and abuse her apparently

How do you know male victims of rape also don't want to see naked penises in the streets?

A naked man on a bike is no more a threat than a clothed one on a bike
