Question about booking.com

Can I book for my sister on my own account? ie can I book her a room under her name on my own account.
I’m also going but we are staying in separate rooms so I’d be booking a room for myself for the same dates in my name.
Just wondering if they let you book for someone else under your own account.
i have put it in her name and put ‘I am the main guest’ for that bit - ie she is the main guest for her room but on my account.
Thanks

Can you not book in your account 2 separate rooms?

Sodthesystem · 15/06/2025 19:32

If you are just booking for her I'm not entirely sure. I'd like to know too as I've wanted to book for my parents.

Im guessing most hotels won't mind provided whomever checks in, shows them ID... ..?

Sodthesystem · 15/06/2025 19:32

But if you are going with her it will be fine.

parsnippot · 15/06/2025 19:35

Ive booked for my children when they’ve been travelling alone.

sunthenmoons · 15/06/2025 19:43

I’m going too- we are in separate rooms- re my post above. I can’t see why not but I guess I should ring them to be sure.
I hope it’s possible ….

OP I've just tried it on the app. When you're searching for whatever you want, it says 'select guests and rooms'. You can then select 2 rooms. It'll be your account but you'll be able to book separate rooms

itsgettingweird · 15/06/2025 20:37

I’ve booked for my dad and ds via my booking.com

I just put one of their names as the lead person.

parsnippot · 15/06/2025 20:49

Agreed, you just put their details as lead guest on the second room.

DuesToTheDirt · 15/06/2025 20:59

Yes, absolutely. I do this all the time - I'll book a room for me and another for DD. Why would you think you couldn't? Have you already booked yours and you're doing hers separately? I still don't see the issue.

AnnieKenney · 16/06/2025 18:45

Yes you can.

Yes, you definitely can. Have a great time!

Am I missing something here, isn't it always better not to use an app, not to set up an account? You will be telling me you paid upfront in full at the time of booking next 🤷‍♀️

Notreallyme27 · 16/06/2025 21:43

It’s fine. I often book rooms in my name for my DCs when I’m not even going. You can change the name on the booking to theirs once it is booked.

Whats wrong with using the app

Why? If you have an account, and you use it a few times, you get discounts. And as for using an app, occasionally you get a better "mobile-only" price on the app than you do on the website, though it's not clear to me why they would do that.
