To cut short my trip and return home

I am visiting my family in USA with my two little ones - baby and a toddler.
I am on maternity leave so I planned the stay for 5 weeks but I am here for 2 weeks now and just very bored and desperate to go back home.
Both my kids have got viral fever since last 2 days and I can't think of anything other than being at my home in UK.
My family is trying to help but they are working and I am mostly doing everything around my kids and night waking.
It's going to cost me £400 but I think it's totally worth it.
My DH thinks I should stay and suck it up as I am seeing my family after a long time.
I wanted to visit NYC but it's been hard with the baby naps, feeds etc.
I am thinking of cutting short my trip but DH thinks I should stay. Looking for any suggestions or advice. Thanks

@saltinesandcoffeecups I am feeling lost. Do you have any ideas?

Oh no 🥺

Well we’ll start with the basics do you have any good books you want to read or listen to? Binge watch a good show or catch up on movies? Not knowing the area you are staying to know what the weather is like? Are there any low stress attractions you are close to? Are you a crafter of anything? Seriously depending on your location Amazon can get coloring books and fancy pencils or markers to you same day or overnight. Same with pedicures and manicure supplies or fancy skin care masks.

It wasn’t clear to me are you an American that relocated to the UK or a Brit whose family is American?

I would stay, when would be the next time you see your family?

It makes no difference what country you will be in, your kids will be sick and you will feel lost.

can you walk? drive locally? find a beach or a soft play/cafe (when they are better)
lots to do make it an adventure!!

I imagine you are feeling overwhelmed with two sick children overseas with no help or time to yourself, however I wouldn’t go home as you’ll probably feel worse.

If it would be possible for any of your family members to watch the children for a couple of hours, I’d ask them to do that, so you have a bit of time to yourself.

You could go for a walk in Central Park, or perhaps go for a massage or maybe wash and blow dry or go for a long lunch, just you. Whatever will help you feel you have a bit of space to feel like a treat and get back to yourself again.
