People dumping their rubbish at entertainment venues (and on planes)

I posted on a local group page on Facebook yesterday after a concert when I had to walk through a sea of discarded beer bottles (Glass ones) and coke/Fanta bottles plus discarded plastic glasses to get out. Dumped in front of the seats. Row after row of this in the circle area. Example below but there were rows of this.

One man replied "Ok Karen calm down just a few bottles 2 minutes to pick up just people enjoying themselves" (one look at his profile tells you all you need to know about him and his partner) I replied "I think you're accidentally on the wrong post. As you can see, my name isn't Karen."

There were a couple of replies from staff of the venue saying that this is what they have to contend with every single time.

What's wrong with some members of society?

Theres often announcements to leave them as they ate sorted for recycling instead of dumped into bins

At my local odeon it actually asks you to leave your rubbish behind so they can sort it out for recycling. I wouldn’t leave it thrown all over the floor though.

I imagine the people that do this of think it’s acceptable live in shit holes. Imagine what their house is like. No respect for others or their surroundings. No wonder the streets are a mess when they are doing this indoors 🙄

I never thought that they would be asked to leave for recycling. In this case I wasn't sure that applied though as an employee remarked about it too.

Surely leaving rubbish just on the floor is a health and safety issue? You could fall on a glass bottle and cut yourself, company could end up getting sued. Do Odeon serve glass bottles? Might need to take a “trip” over there.

If it only takes 2 minutes to pick up, why doesn't he pick his own stuff up?

Dh went to a football match against a Japanese team. At the end, all the Japanese fans pulled out plastic bags and cleared every scrap of litter from the areas where they had been sitting. Not only that, but they sorted as they went: plastics, paper, food-soiled etc, all went into different bags.

Decades ago my parents taught me to take my litter home with me.
