Sister not come home

Usernamenotavailable19 · 12/06/2025 10:02

My sisters a lot younger than me, there’s a 15 year age gap and shes at school, year 9. She never came home from school yesterday, doesn’t have her phone etc and never went to school today. She went as normal yesterday and hasn’t come back. Police are looking but it’s very worrying.

Get it on Facebook etc. Have your parents made contact with school friend parents? Get the word out on the WhatsApp groups alongside the police ref number so any sightings can be linked it her case quickly. I was able to provide a sighting for a friend of a friend (of a friend etc) of a DC when a young lad went missing from local school. Quite shocked police are so calm about the 18 year old bf. Surely that's the first check?! I am sure she will be well. Take care x

mybrainpills · 12/06/2025 15:47

I bet they are regretting it. They won't be trying that again! Sounds like the poor girl was pushed to the limit for some reason.
Really hope you get news of her soon and she is just dossing at a friend's house.

🙄 it's a perfectly normal thing for parents to do.

PosiePetal · 12/06/2025 15:55

I saw this on Facebook this morning, a friend had shared it.

I really hope you hear from her your sister very soon, OP.

RegimentalSturgeon · 12/06/2025 16:01

I wouldn’t be particularly worried in the circumstances and would assume she’s punishing her parents.

She was caught drinking alcohol so not sure what choice they had really

Well, they next time they could give her a dumb phone.

I hope she turns up soon. x

DryDays · 12/06/2025 16:11

Have the police or you or your parents gone through her phone. Hope she comes back soon. It sounds as if she is hanging around the wrong people and is with them rather than any serious harm having come to her. Really hope she turns up soon.

ZiggyPlaysGuitarrr · 12/06/2025 16:14

Any news, OP?
Get some good clear pics and description out on all the local FB groups and the NextDoor app. Check in with all the friends you can. Go through her phone for any clues/unknown friends.
Ask in local shops on her route home from school.
I'm appalled that the police aren't following up the older boyfriend angle.
I really hope she's home safe and sound.

Ponderingwindow · 12/06/2025 16:18

I dearly hope she is just throwing a a bit of a tantrum / taking some
space and will turn up safe.

I hope you hear soon, OP that all is well. x

Usernamenotavailable19 · 12/06/2025 10:23

17/18 year old, apparently she had an 18 year old bf but police said nothing they could do about that

Nothing they could do about an adult dating a child? Wow

Hope she turns up soon

WhiteBluebells · 12/06/2025 16:38

She'll be with the boyfriend, they always are.
Hope police are following up with him.

MoosakaWithFries · 12/06/2025 16:41

If your DSIS is 15 the male could be issued with a Child Abduction Warning Notice (CAWN) if the criteria is met. This means that if found in his company he can be arrested.

The OP says she is year 9, so could be anywhere between almost 14 and almost 15. Not that it makes the 18 year old situation much better, but just pointing out for accuracy

Stripeyanddotty · 12/06/2025 17:06

@ShaunaSadeki
If it’s the same child that was reported missing yesterday having not been seen since 4.30pm the news reports say that she is 12.

Sunshineandgrapefruit · 12/06/2025 17:27

You can shut phones down without removing them physically with the right parental controls. I hope she's ok op. Your parents did the right thing though
They can't be dictated to.

Usernamenotavailable19 · 12/06/2025 18:21

She’s been found, thank you so much!!

Fantastic news ❤️

CagneyNYPD1 · 12/06/2025 19:12

Excellent news. What a relief for all of you.

BakelikeBertha · 12/06/2025 19:31

You must be really relieved OP! I hope that maybe you'll be able to have a word with her about what she's put you all through, she might take it better from a sister than her parents.

Wayk · 12/06/2025 20:09

Thank God. Delighted for you

This will likely result in DSIS never speaking to her sister again.
