To think that drinking alcohol free beer at 10am is a bit odd?

Maybe I'm behind the times, but...

If you were on a first date and arranged to meet for a coffee in a cafe/restaurant at 10am, would you find it a bit strange for your date to order alcohol free beer?

Fair enough, I'm wrong! I just think they're grim 😂 but I also think alcohol tastes grim, so I'm clearly not the target market.

He can drink what he wants when he wants, up to you if you find it acceptable.

This. My ex husband (who has a drink problem) goes through phases of drinking gallons of non alcoholic or low alcohol beer, trying to convince himself that he is quitting.

It suggests someone who is comfortable with the idea of drinking in the morning which in itself would give me the ick.

I don't like most soft drinks because they are too sweet so often order a non-alcoholic beer instead if I fancy something other than water. At 10am I would order a cup of tea or a cappucinno, but if I didn't drink hot drinks I could see me ordering a non-alcoholic beer. I think it would be an unlikely thing for an alcoholic to order, but maybe that's just me.

Yeah it’s a bit weird. No alcohol beer is the only beer I drink and… it’s not that nice.

That's the reason to give this one a miss. He's unintentionally telling you that he has a drink problem.
