I have recently sustained a spine injury and am on bed rest for at least a week (probably much longer) need recommendations of what to watch, for context I've watched, and enjoyed walking dead, end of us, Emily in Paris, gunny and Georgia, prison break, virgin River, black mirror, greys, new amsterdam, most police dramas...! Have access to Netflix, prime and disney

Also, anyone that has been in the same position, how to keep myself occupied! I have a kindle so I am reading, I cant knit or crochet! But do enjoy crafting.

Have a great support system around me but will be alone for school hours!

Many thanks

Have just binged The Four Seasons. Highly recommend it.
Ted Lasso is fantastic, as is The Good Place.
Lianne Moriarty adaptations tend to be good - currently watching the Last Anniversary.

Thank you! Loved the good place! Will look at the other suggestions

Channel 4 now has all five series of Rake, which is an Australian, which is a bit of a hidden gem ( unless you're an Aussie and probably know it already). It's about a dysfunctional defence barrister, his cases and his life. It's funny, and dark and really moving at times too. It's really quite different to most TV, adult and complicated and slightly juvenile at the same time.

isitmeamithedrama · 07/06/2025 23:35

Dept Q is brilliant (Netflix)
bit niche but the Fred and rose west thing is an interesting watch (Netflix)
Clarksons farm is actually a good watch and I’m not a hugh Jeremy Clarkson fan. (Prime)
The four seasons is an easy watch (Netflix)
scandal (Disney)
only murders in the building (Disney)

sleepylittlebunnies · 07/06/2025 23:44

The Resident
The Good Doctor
Peaky Blinders
Manifest
Designated Survivor
The Rookie and The Rookie Feds
Chicago Med, Fire and PD
Lioness

Gilmore Girls, Parenthood and Never Have I Ever (all Netflix) are very moreish.

BIWI · 07/06/2025 23:47

Dept Q is brilliant - just finished that today.

Pulse, on Netflix, if you enjoyed New Amsterdam. Another hospital drama.

One Day, also on Netflix.

Say Nothing & Black Cake on Disney+
and Bloodline on Netflix

Magnalux · 07/06/2025 23:50

I’ve just started the mindy project on prime and am enjoying it.

Scandinoirfan · 07/06/2025 23:51

Just binged The Survivors on Netflix, Australian set drama. Another recommendation for Department Q.

XelaM · 08/06/2025 00:16

"Victim" on ITVX is absolutely superb - one of the best crime drama mini series in my view.
"Malpractice" on ITVX for a Doctor drama.

GimmeMyM0ney · 08/06/2025 00:19

Dark is extremely good. But watch with subtitles. The American dubbing is so jarring as is usually the case.

GimmeMyM0ney · 08/06/2025 00:19

The Boys is good too.

The Better Sister - Amazon
Have you watched Games of Thrones before?

GimmeMyM0ney · 08/06/2025 00:28

The Last of Us is great too. Don't be put off by the fact it's based on a game. It's really good.

KimberleyClark · 08/06/2025 00:29

Yellowstone. First four seasons are on Netflix, the final season on Paramount. Just finished it and I’m bereft.

XelaM · 08/06/2025 00:30

If you liked "Virgin River" you will LOVE "Parenthood". It's a very easy watch with great acting and script.

BIWI · 08/06/2025 00:32

Also A Man on the Inside is great

I absolutely hated it sorry. Beth has to be the worst female character of all time. She made the series unwatchable. Hated hated hated it and hated the ending.
