To be scared that my AirPods just swore at me

In bed right now reading mn on iPad. AirPods were in purely out of habit but silent as I'm on Mumsnet. DH asleep. DCs in bed. Then... mid reading a mn post my AirPods told me to F Off. First of all quietly with a stutter, then louder, repeating F Off about three times before I took them off. Was a robotic female voice.

Freaked out! Has this happened to anyone else?

I have had that before where a reel is playing but this wasn't like that. No background noise, just an automated female voice slowly and calmly repeatedly saying F off. I am still assuming responsibility lies with the teens in the house. Otherwise it's too freaky.

Sounds very teen boyish

It could be blue tooth. If your airpods are connected by blue tooth, do the teens have access to that? They may have connected to your air pods and played it down it or someone has access does.

If so, then hopefully just a prank. 🤣🤣🤣

Yes connected by Bluetooth. And yes they do. Sigh.
