Please help me with my fear

I know it’s silly. My biggest fear is rats and mice. Ever since I was 14 I’ve been terrified of them and I don’t know why. My garden backs onto a kind of forest so I know they’re around, thankfully haven’t seen one here yet, however my partner annoyingly told me in the outside shed there was droppings. I see them whilst out walking through parks and I literally run in the opposite direction, please please help me calm my mind, I always think about what if I saw one in my garden, I couldn’t go out there again, or even worse the house, I honestly would move out. Please give me some words of advice that they aren’t that bad

Get hypno-therapy.

Best thing that I have ever done. My phobia was different but really impacted my life.

We had rats at the bottom of our garden and we had a mouse living under the stairs (he was the cutest little fluff ball but had to be evicted). Rats now gone as we removed the food source. Quite miss the little critters. I'm so lucky I have no phobias, I had a work colleague who had a fear (a REAL fear) of dogs. She can barely go to the shops after COVID.

@cherrycola66 I feel your pain. I have a major dislike of ALL bugs and a total phobia, heart-attack level fear of stinging insects, except normal honey bees. Wasps, hornets, yellow jackets, murder hornets, killer bees and every other thing that stings.
But I don't react well to any bug coming near me. Give me snakes, mice, rats any day.
