Worrying about my daughter. AIBU?

Posting here for traffic, sorry.

My daughter has had so many medical issues in her life meaning a multitude of tests and medications that we deal with. All issues related to her stomach/digestive system.
However, for a very long time, she has complained of knee pain. I have often brushed it off as it’s not felt that significant compared to everything else. And I have also mentioned it to her paediatrician who didn’t dwell on it either. She was underweight, so I kind of thought that her body might just not be quite functioning right.
Anyway, she is now thankfully at a suitable weight for her height but the knee pain persists in both knees, on the inner section, from the inner left of the knee cap, up and over the knee cap. She says it mainly hurts climbing stairs and also running. She is now at a weight where I can get her into sports, but her sore knees are stopping her.
I am going to take her to the GP next week, but I just worry so much about this kid! I get anxious for every medical appointment and I’m sort of spiralling about what this could be?
Her stomach issues are likely unrelated, but we don’t have a strict diagnosis on that yet. She is trialling a treated for gastroparesis at the moment.
id be really grateful for any insight and advice. I’m just a worried mum, which I’m sure you can all relate to. Thanks.

Could it be that the muscles need strengthening? Illness, treatment, not in clubs, adding (even much needed) weight ...might be nothing all the serious and down to strengthening exercises. Doctor may potentially send for xray/ultrasound or something to check for forms of arthritis (not trying to scare you!), then it might he a case of physio and regularly doing the exercises. This is what they dud for me, but I'm alot older. I do ha e crohns though, so if she hasn't been able to absorb correctly in her stomach, it could be down to a vitamin deficiency like low iron, b12, I think low vit d can cause joint pain. Mine improved massively with vitamins at the correct dose daily. Wishing you luck as it is always such a worry.

Some medications can cause knee or joint pain as a side effect.

Is she hypermobile? Some people who have hypermobile EDS can have gastroparesis and suffer from joint pains because of ligaments not being strong enough. She might benefit from a physio review and some strengthening exercises.

My dd got knee pain was a condition called chondromalacia (sp?) over counter meds, physio, vitamins helped

Just wait and speak to the GP. You'll get loads of suggestions from non medical people that have no idea what your daughter is going through and you'll just worry yourself further.

She's going to the best place to find out the issue, and it's not the AIBU forum on Mumsnet

It might be worth checking if she has flat feet - this can cause issues with the knees
