Should I give a birthday present

Hi

So my son has been invited to his Friends birthday party, it is being held as a joint birthday party with another child in the same year.
My child received the invitation from child A who he is friends with. My child isn’t particularly friends with child B, so had it not been a joint party he would not have got an invitation from child B. He doesn’t play or hang out with child B at all in school.

my dilemma is do I buy a present for child B also? Even though the invitation is from child A, but the card the mum gave me states both the children’s name and both of the mums name.

I was thinking of adding a fiver in the card and a box of chocolate, should I -

  1. give both children fiver in card and chocolate box
  2. give child A fiver with chocolate box, and child B a card with no money and just a chocolate box?

Card and same present for both. It's a no brainer.

Yes same for both I'm afraid.

Same for both.

I would give both, as they may become friends after the party, but if you cannot afford 2 presents, then just give to the one friend.

Both.

Stick a fiver in each of the cards, job done

It’s a joint party - you give a gift of equal value to both or you refuse the invitation.

Agree, give to both. It’s the generous thing to do

Same for both why not x

Ok I’ll do that, that was my intention to give to both before i started double guessing if I should give to both or not! as I would hate for them to open it together and see only one of them has money in the card.
