People over 55 (or younger), what things do you avoid doing now?

For me, it's going up stairs due to mobility issues. We are thinking of moving to a bungalow or getting a stairlift here. I find getting upstairs in other buildings very difficult so avoid it.
I would be interested in what other people avoid doing.

I've stopped feeling bad about having zero interest in having another relationship. I am single. I have cats. All is well.

Yes cats make everything better 😁
Also zero interest in another relationship.

Due to longstanding disability, I got a stairlift 16 months ago, and also employed a Personal Assistant/Cleaner at the same time.
So, i don't have to go up the stairs on all fours any longer, nor come down then on my bum like a 5 year old.
Nor do I do house cleaning duties.
I do still deal with the dishwasher, washing machine and tumble dryer, and I cook, but the majority of household chores are done by my PA/cleaner.

Why, at 55, can't you get up the stairs? Because that's not particularly normal. 85, maybe.

Mid 60s here. I hardly drink any alcohol these days but that's more to do with knowing about the effects on health rather than because of my age.

I've given up worrying about having a fancy skincare regime.

I've stopped colouring my hair and have got used to the salt & peppery colour of my hair.

I've given up sitting on the floor to watch TV, much prefer my armchair now.

I'm 65.

Kneeling on the floor. I have patella alta and a touch of osteoarthritis. The consultant told me that I'm not allowed to run or cycle.

60 and I think I danced on my last table last weekend… until the next time?! 🤣

Not 55 yet but skiing. I know too many people with long-term injuries as a result of skiing accidents.

Rarely drink, makes me feel like crap ..
Stay away from people I’d have kept company with before , cause I came to realise, I don’t even fucking like them 😂
Much more health conscious, eat well & go to gym ..
Always took such notice of the little things before , now I don’t 😊….

I’m 56. Have had a very active life. I’m riddled with osteoarthritis and had my first knee replacement at 54. Climbing the stairs was agony and even with my knee replacement, on bad days, going up and down stairs is still agony.

I know someone who had both hips replaced in their 50s due to arthritis
