2 children, 2 adults. 4DX, no other option in the language we wanted. Lilo and Stitch.
2 beers, 2 colas, medium popcorn and 2 Haribos pick and mix.
4DX was a super experience that I had never had before and I laughed and had fun, but the cost….
AIBU this is normal for going to the cinema for a 4DX film.
AIBNU that this is really a lot of money.

I think my cinema is around £18 for an adult ticket - I pay £25 a month and can go up to 9 (!) times a week; typically about twice weekly on average for me, so I was thinking not a not a lot different - but I just looked and they have a family ticket for £48.

Food & drink is not dissimilar to bar prices

Yes it's expensive but that's what it costs.

Well it sounds like it is what it costs OP in her country but it doesn't have to be what it costs here - 2 adults and 2 kids could be as little as a tenner in the cinemas by me if you used meercat or similar and you can bring your own food and drink in. 4d is perhaps 2 or 3 quid more, but even if you did that and went on a Saturday you'd have change from £30.
