Hi my little girl is 10 months old and she is not sitting without support not rolling over yet anyone else’s baby been delayed in sitting, rolling over etc. And been diagnosed with anything serious or am i just stressing a lot? and when did you see signs of your baby meeting these milestones? So worried we consult with gp and physiotherapist they gave referral but waiting time is so long

How long is the referral time? Have you seen a health visitor about this too and potentially get some support for her there? Has she hit her other milestones?

My middle son didn’t sit until 10 months. He was much later diagnosed with a bit of a hip issue. He should have probably had it splinted or some kind of treatment. Caused him a fair bit of pain as he grew. He’s 21 this summer, an excellent football player, good runner (though he does have an odd running gait).

38-40 weeks yes we visited health visitors they gave referrals for her or said her neck muscles are stiff and she sit with support movements and responses are totally fine but not completing other milestones like sitting without support crawling standing

The not rolling would especially concern me, that's usually the first milestone babies reach and is common from 3 months old.

I'd probably go to the GP, perhaps see if hip/leg x-rays/scans just to rule out any major issues.

Sorry just seen you've been to the GP but waiting lists are long, can you afford private?

Keep going back to your GP and HV, my friend kept getting fobbed off and then eventually her DD got a diagnosis of Angelmans Syndrome at 14 months. Highly doubtful that's your DD as its rare, but don't let them fob you off if you're worried!

Lilgrl · 01/06/2025 14:29

We checked her by a private doctor he said she dont have any concerning thing just just her muscles of neck are stiff as she is able to stand try to stand her responses her eye contact recognition everything is normal.
if anyone else have same issues let me know please
she start saying words like mama baba …

We went private he said wait for 2 months let see she start improving or not as she moves upward on sides but not rolling over he said she is not on side of any severity issue.
i m still waiting for paediatricians appointment as her physiotherapist appointment is coming next month

I would also be worried, the rolling especially- rolling is a 4 month milestone usually, my daughter is 13 months now and if she hadn’t been rolling, sitting etc by 10 months i’d have been pushing for referrals certainly

Gp has referred already! I’m really sick of all this gp bashing

IwasDueANameChange · 01/06/2025 22:36

My nephew was quite a wobbly sitter until late on and was slow to walk and crawl. He's now a healthy happy 9 year old, perfectly capable physically but is quite hypermobile.

IwasDueANameChange · 01/06/2025 22:37

Oh and neither of my kids could roll until about 7/8 months and both are now quite sporty. Eldest was like a beached whale.

IwasDueANameChange · 01/06/2025 22:40

Also op - does she get plenty of time just laying around on floor/mat - not in any kind of seat/chair/walker/pram?

Look up container baby syndrome. This is increasingly common as people strap babies into seats a lot.

WickWood · 01/06/2025 22:42

Oh bless her, I'd be worried too, my 7 month old is meeting all these milestones, crawling, rolling and sitting up independently for any length of time (not saying this to be an arse but to answer your question) I'm glad you've taken her to be checked and she's on the waiting list. I am sure she is just prefect x

Not GP bashing at all but okay. FTM sometimes get "fobbed" off by doctors as over anxious or just inexperienced. Sometimes health professionals can be very laid back in terms of baby milestones because "they are all different".
