To ask what is a Wine Body?

After a discussion with some family & friends at a recent gathering, a couple of them insist that they can spot a regular wine drinker from their face and body alone, that it has a typical 'look'. I presume they refer to female friends and colleagues here.

I am not a wine drinker, but sometimes enjoy a bit of G&T at the weekend. I have not personally noticed this myself, although the only wine drinkers I know are my sister and a male friend.

Is this another case of women putting each other down, or is there something I am missing?

I knew a man who drank far too much wine (it killed him in the end), and he was fat. Wine is very calorific. He went Simpsons yellow.

I have a relative who is an alcoholic, and he is very skinny apart from a swollen stomach. His nose is purple. His poison of choice is whisky.

There is the stereotype of the man with a beer gut. Beer is also loaded with calories.

I am "blessed" with rosacea so always look red.
