The way she forced her kid to wear weird clothes knowing he’d get picked on for it, the way she forced him to be vegetarian because that was HER beliefs, the way she encouraged him to randomly start singing despite knowing it would make him a target …

AIBU to find her insufferable? I used to know a woman like this in real life, her kids were miserable.

Agree that Toni Collette is a fabulous actress, very believable and always nails the character
She was in ‘ unbelievable’ a Netflix drama , so good.

Love the film, but the most annoying thing for me was that a lot of it was filmed around where I live (so enjoy place spotting from 25 years ago 😁) but they used the Sainsburys' in Camden rather than a local supermarket.
I thought the mother being irritating was a key point of the plot.

I dont get them feeling she forced him. I get the feeling he did it because he thought it would make her happy. He was desperate for her to be happy and that was all he had in his “power”.

I cant watch the film anymore, it gives single mums a bad name 😔
