Pregnancy tests getting lighter at 5 weeks

blooshboon · 29/05/2025 03:24

Hi guys.
took a test on Monday, and came back positive right away, I did have a chemical last month and the tests were negative by the end of it so positive this is a new pregnancy.

Obviously I’ve did what we all shouldn’t and kept on taking tests, but now they’re getting lighter. My period apps have placed me at 5 weeks pregnant today.

i dont know why i am even posting this, maybe a hand hold at 3am? I said to DH if it happens again this time I wont try again because it’s too detrimental on my mental health to keep going through this. Will attach pictures below.

pictures

2 clearblue and 4 Morrisons tests.

They aren't getting lighter, a couple look slightly flooded.

Stop taking tests. Why are you? For reassurance? Because that isn't working for you. Relax and save your money.

Well this ( a little reassurance ) and mainly because last month with my chemical pregnancy, hospital refused to say I was ever pregnant, I did the usual 2 test, one lined one digital, threw them after and then had to sit in a room full of male doctors telling me I was never pregnant.

Were they all done first thing in the morning?

If it’s another chemical pregnancy you’ll know soon as your period will start.

Meanwhile, take each day as it comes. Look into booking an early reassurance scan if that would help, as that can help you focus on counting through the days to a short term date.

Unfortunately pregnancy is full of anxieties and rarely a beautiful blossoming and entirely positive experience. The anxieties are normal and you’ll have to learn to live with them. If this pregnancy is viable you have a 8 months ahead of doubts, checking your knickers, and poking your belly to see if the baby kicks back.

onetrickrockingpony · 29/05/2025 06:13

Also, unless there were other concerns, there’s no need to go to hospital about a chemical pregnancy. Why were you there? Were you looking for validation?

ScrewedByFunding · 29/05/2025 06:17

Then I'm a bit confused about what you want people to say here? Maybe book a scan? I don't think that will help you feel better though.

No I didn’t want to go hospital, I got sent there by the GP as I was having one sided pain, and they needed to rule out an ectopic.

edit to add extra info - all but the 3rd one down was done in the AM. With first or second urine. I’ve got an early scan booked for 14 June, no point going before I didn’t think as they wouldn’t be able to see anything much.

I’ve literally stated in my OP i dont know why i was posting. It says it in the post??

I dont need people on here telling me to book a scan so I can go and see nothing because its way too early.
I was just looking maybe for someone to talk to?
DH is away at work for the weekend.
and I don’t think sitting down with my 6 year old and talking about this is wise????

Wow ok, lashing out much? People have taken the time to try and give you practical reassurance tips. Won’t bother next time!

Zanatdy · 29/05/2025 06:27

Stop doing the tests. They are just causing further anxiety.

SpanThatWorld · 29/05/2025 06:28

If you keep doing really early tests, you will keep detecting pregnancies that aren't viable and haven't implanted.

If you want to talk to someone, try this from the St Thomas' hospital website:

Support for you
It can be hard to recover from a miscarriage. No matter when in your pregnancy you lose your baby, you may need support to help you come to terms with what’s happened. Tommy’s is here to help you. You can talk to a Tommy’s midwife for free, Monday-Friday, 9am-5pm. You can call them on 0800 0147 800 or email [email protected]

Yes which people (including me whilst i was sitting in the dark with my sick dog) have tried but honesty you're quite rude so I'll leave you to it.

I didn’t lash out at you though? I answered the post you asked about why I went to the hospital? And if the tests were taken in the AM.

in fact I didn’t lash out at anyone.

I’m sorry if you guys think I’m lashing out, and that isn’t my intention to be nasty to anyone.

Honestly I’m just scared as fuck, this is the 2nd time I’ve caught on in 2 months, I feel dreadful this time around.

DD (6) is home educated,
DH is away until Monday so can’t turn to him.
we recently moved to the countryside from the city so don’t have any friends or family local I can talk to about any of it.

i am very sorry if I've came across as rude or ignorant, I’m just confused and honestly scared out of my mind. This is my last chance to have a baby, and I really want it to happen. It also doesn’t help I’ve been awake since 2am, as I’m also struggling to sleep.

Also @onetrickrockingponyI’m currently 4 days late from my period - last month the bleeding started the day after I was due on.

@blooshboon maybe you just stick to your other identical post on the Pregnancy board instead of posting on AIBU.

Hey thanks for the info. I didn’t test with this pregnancy until the day after my period was due (25/05)

That’s a huge amount of tests seeing as you only first tested Monday. Maybe just test once a day, first thing in the morning?

@10storeylovesong

hello my love. Thank you for checking in, I actually had to go for a scan yesterday as was referred by midwife as I’ve been having pains low down right side, and my shoulder and arms.

scan showed yolk sac and fetal pole in the right place, but no baby just yet. I’m measuring 5 weeks 6 days. They’ve booked me another scan for 16 Jun, to hopefully be able to see a heartbeat.

since this post I actually had a dye stealer pregnancy test and 2-3 digital last week. I have stopped testing completely as of last Friday? Symptom wise, I’m super tired, very bloated, stomachs super heavy and uncomfortable. No nausea yet, thank goodness. Hearty appetite too and just honestly wanting to lay down all day 😂.

once again, thank you so much for checking in, it’s really appreciated xx
