Could you walk a mile in these shoes? (literally not figuratively)

It has been YEARS since I’ve not been pregnant or breast feeding (three back to back). I’ve finally got round to shifting that last bit of baby weight and feel great.

It’s my SILs birthday coming up and we are doing a bit of a night out. I think there will be roughly a mile or so of walking all in all. Not too much.

I used to dress up and wear stilettos ALL the time pre babies. But I just don’t know if I’m being ambitious wearing these shoes and bar hopping.

Back in the day these would have been sensible heels but I’m very out of practice. Want to feel glam. Getting my make up done to feel more me!

They aren’t too bad, are they?

I'd be 100% fine.
I think my biggest concern would be rubbing from the thin straps rather than height of the heel and difficulty walking.

Use some of those cushioned pads to put under the ball of your feet - They're designed for this.
I lived in heels, pre kids. Struggle more now but I'd say they'll be absolutely fine with some cooling cushions! They're lovely!

I do platforms or wedges these days for lift with comfort. Cant do heel heels any more.

Xiaoxiong · 28/05/2025 13:03

I could manage the heels but not all the little straps - they've always cut my feet up like cheese wire.

midlifeattheoasis · 28/05/2025 13:16

For me it would be more a case of them being strappy and rubbing my feet rather than the height of the heel

Justkeepingplatesspinning · 28/05/2025 13:17

I think you need to practice walking round your home with them on. They've lovely and night outy but I couldn't wear them for long standing up if I'd been wearing flats for ages.

wobblybrain · 28/05/2025 13:27

I could manage the rest leaking but they would kill my feet if I had to stand up in a bar wearing them

WhereAreWeNow · 28/05/2025 13:29

No chance. Even if I could cope with the height, those straps would cut my feet to shreds.

LuckyShark · 28/05/2025 13:44

If leather yes, if plastic probably not
You want them to expand with your foot

TheNightingalesStarling · 28/05/2025 13:46

I couldn't walk two feet in them without falling over.
