To not know how to deal with a sick/injured crow on my garden table?

I was putting the laundry out this morning and noticed my dog go up to the table outside. I was taken aback to see a crow (I think) just sitting on the table, hardly moving apart from the odd head movement. Obviously I knew something was wrong because it wasn't flying away. It's still there now and I've checked the RSPCA website which really doesn't help. I wonder if my dog caught it possibly and injured it when I wasn't looking. I'm really not sure what to do. I'm too scared to try and put it into a box.

It's just started moving more it's standing up now and attending to its wings with its beak... Argh. I really don't know what to do. There's only me at home! Does anyone have any advice please? I may end up asking my neighbour for help I think. I don't want my kids to see an injured bird when they get home from their dad's 😔

Glad for the happy ending - I once let a crow out of a trap out on a moor, one of those big metal cages with no food or water. I know they're not popular with farmers but I couldn't bear to see it in there looking so tragic, and it wasn't lambing time. It was a bit wobbly at first, but made off after a few minutes. Sorry to say I had to move on so couldn't stay for any thanks!

I've also seen crows hiding bits of bread in long grass - a rainy day on a campsite looking out of our camper van window! They came back and got it the next day.

I think 'mootime' is going to become part of vocabulary from now on! Yes indeed, the bird was seemingly just being dramatic and having some mootime. It did a very good job of looking injured and wobbly on its legs, before eventually flying off. Little hustler!

Don't forget to have some more snacks out there for when Moo the Crow returns to say thank you.

You now have a crow fan club, your name will go down in the annals of Crow Song as RikRikRaaaaaaaark the Great and they will protect your home, car and garden from all intruders, human, seagull and fox.

Have a great time and enjoy your reign, Mother of Crows.

Moo the Crow Grin I love it. Moo herself would be less impressed. She is not fond of the great outdoors and the things that live there. She eventually surfaced yesterday. She sunbathed on the landing for a while and then decided to brave the garden to enjoy the sun (on the sunlounger, she would never lower herself to lie on grass like a commoner). She was thoroughly unimpressed when it started to rain and took herself back to bed. When it came time for their walk, she vanished and was eventually found hiding in my fleece Oodie in my washing basket.

I'm glad your crow was just pulling a Moo, OP. Hopefully, he and his family will come back to visit often.
