Got an interview, yay, but it's not in person and on teams

I know I'm being unreasonable but love the feedback people give on this site.

I saw a job advertised and I didn't get time to apply last time. It was advertised start of April and readvertised a week ago.

I applied an hour before closing And got an interview offer shortly after.

I know someone who applied for the job last time and they didn't get it but it was advertised in person, in their office. Mine is on teams.

Any ideas why it's on teams?

Also it's £38k job and I'm on £32k so welcome rise.

I'm 42 and single parent.

How do I not fuck it up?

It's probably because one of the panel can't make it into the office.

Is it a multi - interview process? First on teams then in person?
I really wouldn't stress over it.
Good luck! 🤗

I'm not sure. My colleague only spoke about in person, she said the office was large and had a bad vibe from hiring officer

I’ve just done this. Interviews were in person so we could let them see our work location and culture (which is a selling point). Not a single candidate who was shortlisted for a high paying role was available f2f during the day and they all got other jobs whilst trying to arrange to see them outside of their working hours.
So I re advertised and organised Teams interviews for new applicants to fit into diaries better. It’s more practical but less personal.

Yes I suspect that

You can have the JD/advert and the company pages up whilst on the interview too.

Not really possible

I had an interview just before Easter which was supposed to be F2F. The interviewer had a medical emergency with his DD so it was done an hour later on Teams with another manager who does the same thing at another location in the NE, along with a team leader at the place where the job was for.

rwalker · 24/05/2025 15:31

if there an element of WFH teams will be the bread and butter of the role good way to test it

Jellycatspyjamas · 24/05/2025 15:55

They may not have appointed in the last round of interviews. People can look really good on paper and not perform at interview. They may not want the hassle and expense of in person interviews if candidates are using AI to tart up their cvs but don’t have the skills needed. Go and sell yourself.
