Aibu to bet you cannot help me think of gifts for the most impossible person in the world?

NCed for this as it’s outing

my DH is the hardest person in the world to buy gifts for!! But it’s his birthday coming up and I need to think of something

So - he is vegan, tee total, doesn’t eat sugar or high fat foods, doesn’t drink caffeine, doesn’t like cars, cycling or sports, doesn’t read books, doesn’t listen to music. Doesn’t like gardening, not into fashion, would never let me buy any tech for him, not into ‘self care’ or ‘pampering’ of any kind. Doesn’t do DIY. Doesn’t collect anything.

His interests are fitness and cinema - but he has all relevant subscriptions and equipment already.

To add insult to injury, I’m immobile temporarily but it means we can’t go out together: no meals, events, holidays, etc. He doesn’t like doing things on his own. I’ve tentatively suggested buying him tickets to things with friends but his mates are mostly gym buddies and they don’t socialise otherwise.

WHAT can I get him?!?! Aibu to think nobody can think of anything and it’s completely impossible?

Can I hijack?
DH is harder. He’s currently immobile, can’t leave the house without significant pain. Has an audible subscription. Can’t wear socks. On a diet. Doesn’t read. Can’t stand for long.
Need inspiration for Father’s Day and birthday.
likes online chess and Pokemon go as he can’t do much else atm.

Silky eye mask with inbuilt headphones so he can listen to audible or a podcast in bed (musicozy on amazon are good ones, cost approx £20-£25)

Mobile podiatrist appointment if he's struggling with foot care

Board game or puzzle. Or a games console/VR headset if you want to push the boat out

My partner is really tough to buy for, I bought him a blacksmith "forge your own dagger or small sword" experience day and all his guy friends were really envious of that gift and thought it sounded like the coolest thing ever. We haven't done it yet but he's looking forward to it. They have all different forging options too

A massage? A spa day?

When my Dad died, lots of kerfuffle over coffins - my sister and I both like willow coffins it turns out.
There was a willow coffin making course in a village near her. For some reason she turned down my suggestion that I'd get it for her as a birthday present.

I said yesterday I would love to hire out a cinema screen and watch my favourite old movies - so a carry on marathon or something

Perhaps you could a projector and screen for you garden?

Things I have bought my husband that he liked: Nice pyjamas, a Swiss Army Knife, a massage chair, some sun glasses, a spud gun.

PinkArt · 23/05/2025 23:13

Budget permitting, if you can't take him out for a meal could the meal come to you? Private chef if the budget is very healthy or delivered meals if not.

DP likes Lego, a Swiss Army knife or leather man tool for his collection
Adult DC paid for a VR experience for last birthday as we’ve exhausted most of the local escape rooms,
