Tantrum in public

I feel bad. DS wasn't cooperative today at shopping and I had to put him in his buggy even though he fought it. It was loud and lots of tears. I felt bad afterwards. Anyone been there in a situation like that?

It's how strong they are in that moment - I swear pound for pound strength toddlers would beat power and weight lifters any day.

25lb toddler -v- 150lb adult and it's the adult sweating at the end of it.

Just remember this when they're throwing a teenage strop! Sorry, I'm sure every parent has been where you are. To use the famous saying 'It's a phase'.

One time I remember carrying a 2yo out of the shop and he managed to open the pick and mix flippy type display as he went, grabbing and spilling random jellies 😫

Mine had an absolute meltdown in Waitrose today because I said no to the bottle of juice she wanted, it was tequila. And was literally shrieking 'Mummy please, I'm so thirsty' as if I was depriving her of water.

My son saved his very first tantrum for the 2 year check with the health visitor. I don’t think I’ve ever been so embarrassed. Had to carry him howling like a banshee, as he alternated from a reverse banana to rigid as a board and spinning like a rotisserie chicken. First and last tantrum. He’s now 9, never done it again since! Just to impress the health centre staff I think.
