I like it. A sensible design and nicely finished inside. The view is stunning as well. I'd be spending a lot of my time standing at the window!

Yeah the utility room is large enough to accommodate storage for kitchen items if needed. I don’t feel like I’ll need much else storage though. Maybe that’s just me.

to be honest I won’t be putting in a huge kitchen table so hopefully they’ll be a little bit of space between the table and the door.

Ahh, good news! I have a huge amount of kitchen stuff so storage is always my number one concern 😆 I think with the off-shoot room (sunroom / dining room?) you should have a reasonable amount of flexibility for seating and a table.

The whole place does look lovely, and the patio looks to give great views!

TheyreLikeUsButRichAndThin · 23/05/2025 15:45

Hideous from the outside. Gorgeous view, lovely inside, looks spacious and also homey.

StarCourt · 23/05/2025 16:01

i could live there

fruitbrewhaha · 23/05/2025 16:02

It’s 5 bedroom but on the footprint of a 3 bed. If you had a full house you wouldn’t all fit in the living room, and can you fit a table large enough to seat the amount of people living there? If you’re a family if 4 and want a spare room and an office it’s fine but if you’re expecting guests etc the house isn’t big enough to be 5 bedrooms.

The bathrooms look a bit cheap. There’s no shower over the bath and no storage. No vanity units just basins.

The location though is lovely, the reason to buy it is the view.

The gardens look small and the rooms are small, but I suppose new builds are usually smaller. I’m not in love with them- but I see I’m alone! 🙈

No I'm not keen on new builds either. But it is very nice. Garden a bit small. I'd look round at what else is available before deciding. But good that it has 2 bbathrooms and hallway is very nice.

Duvetsse · 23/05/2025 16:11

A raised decking would maximise that view.

KimberleyClark · 23/05/2025 16:17

Itiswhysofew · 23/05/2025 15:18

They've actually done a good job of it, although, I'd prefer halls adjoining in a semi detached. How's the soundproofing?

Adjoining halls makes the hall and stairs area quite dark.

Blushingm · 23/05/2025 16:21

A lot of house for the money too - lovely

Clearly I've got too much time on my hands because I did look around at what else is available. In the same price bracket I'd say there aren't really any houses that size that are substantially nicer, you'd need another 100-150k. There are some semis I like better in more established residential locations but they're no bigger - what you could probably get is a 2-storey house which therefore occupies a wider plot and gets you a front door and driveway a bit further away from your semi-detached neighbours. But I didn't see anything else in this price bracket with a sea view, and clearly OP does like newbuilds, so it seems like a sensible enough thing to do.

CrispieCake · 23/05/2025 16:49

Nothing practical to say, but wow, that view.

I live in an urban area and shut my curtains to feel peaceful, if I lived there, I'd be opening them and feeling instantly serene.

Gustavo77 · 23/05/2025 16:52

It looks very narrow and that's too much money for a semi.
The rooms are very small too. I'd rather lose a bedroom and have bigger rooms but that's not easy to do on these 3 storey houses.

Builders are really take advantage of people, small overpriced houses, built over three floors, jam packed with small rooms, on a small footprint with halls and stairs taking up a significant chunk of living space.
I have been in and out of these type of houses as part of my job and they're hugely impractical. Seeing them empty is one thing but as soon as people start trying to shoehorn furniture into them, it's a whole other story.

If you have that budget I'm sure you'll get much nicer.

I have no idea, not moved in yet! I’ll keep you posted 😅

Ask the auctioneer if you can go next door and make some noiseGrin

hellohellooo · 23/05/2025 16:54

Very nice

Lovely kitchen

I have to say
500k is Wtaf?
Also they usually got well above asking

I built my brand new 3000sq foot house for 220 k sterling last year (in the country side)

I hate to see people being ripped off

I hate this housing crisis

StMarie4me · 23/05/2025 16:58

Beautiful. I’d buy one like a shot!

Glitchymn1 · 23/05/2025 17:01

@Kitchenbattle If I lived by the beach I’d be there every day! So I guess the garden is big enough for a dining set and loungers! Low maintenance. Go for it.

deeahgwitch · 23/05/2025 17:08

How near to the beach are they @Kitchenbattle?

MissMoan · 23/05/2025 17:21

It seems cold and clinical to me, but it has great potential, and I'd love to see what you do with the place to make it all homely.

Growlybear83 · 23/05/2025 17:35

I think they look very bland and stark. I hate huge open plan kitchen / diners and think they are so unwelcoming. But the house is a fairly blank canvas and it would be quite easy to give it some character.

PicaK · 23/05/2025 17:40

The feng shui is a bit off with the front door running straight to the back door.
The utility room will be a trek from the top bedroom.
But overall it's lovely - bit stark all that black and white but will take colour easily.

Kitchenbattle · 23/05/2025 17:49

deeahgwitch · 23/05/2025 17:08

5/6min drive/20ish min walk I reckon

Edited

There wouldn’t be that much choice down there.

The second phase will be dearer. New builds are in huge demand because they don’t require expensive renovations and they are very well insulated.

EricTheGardener · 23/05/2025 17:56

For a new build, way nicer than the ones near me, which are a horrible orange-red brick with white plastic windows. From the inside the windows in yours look really good and really frame the views. Price seems good to me, but then a similar house where I live would cost £700-800k.

Adjoining halls makes the hall and stairs area quite dark.

I'd rather have a light on in my hall / stairs area than have all the living space sharing a wall with next door.
I'm with @Itiswhysofew - I can't understand why they design most semis with the living space and bedroom space sharing a wall when there is often no need.
