Universal credit help getting a divorce

Hi all please be gentle as it's my first time on here . I was married 2009 we only lived togeather for 3 weeks my wife cheated and left I never claimed benifits for her and she as never claimed any benifits . We are now getting a divorce as she wants to remarry and we will no bye 12 of June if it as been accepted then on to nxt stage .I am migrateing over to uc from esa I am disabled I don't no what to say to uc on the part we're it asks general questions about one's self do I have to tell them .thank you as this was over 15 years ago

Also she as asked me for half of the 612 pound i don't think I should as I wasn't the one who ended the marriage as she cheated

She needs to set up her own UC account and you keep your money.

She doesn't claim benifits never as and we split along time ago she as been with her partner over 11 years

Well she has no right to your money so tell her to sod off. Do you have children? Is she asking for maintenance?

No we don't she as not asked for any money on the divorce only half of the 612 she as grown up kids . I don't no what to say to the uc I did inform dwp in 2009 I was comeing on my claim but she left so I had to claim again

Is the £612 your ESA? She is not entitled to any of it.

She wants you to pay half the court fee for the divorce?

If you aren’t bothered by being divorced then morally it seems like she should pay it to progress the divorce

if you both want the divorce you should split the cost

your benefits situation is irrelevant
