“You’re never going to lose weight if you eat like that”

I have done very well and lost 25 pounds. With more to go.

I am away on holiday with brother, SIL, my husband and kids. We get on well (most of the time).

On the first night I had a little bit of a moan as the way I had lost weight had seemingly stopped yielding results. So I mentioned I am probably going to shake things up when we get home. I was directly asked by brother. I know not to talk too much about weight as it is one of those topics most find very boring. I told brother and SIL that I probably need to add more calories as the 1000 calorie diet plan seems to have randomly stopped working. Once again I shared this info when directly asked.

So today I ate:

  • veg green juice
  • 1/3 Boursin, veg sticks and maybe 4/5 crackers the size of a Jacob’s one (this was pure gluttony as it was next to me by the pool. In the past I could’ve easily put the whole thing away)
  • cornetto (chosen because I didn’t know how many calories were in the ice cream from the icecream parlour)
  • small burrito (no cheese or sour cream)
  • Stuck to Diet Coke over wine

When sil saw me tucking into the Cornetto she made a very snarky comment like “I don’t think too few calories is your problem, Ploverz! Hahaha”. Bloody cackled

What a horrible thing to say! I obviously don’t eat like this everyday.

I just need to vent! All things considered I don’t think today was totally unhinged like it would have been a few months ago. SIL is a size 6 and it’s just left me feeling sorry for myself.

Hand on my heart I have been doing 1000 calories at home.

Next time she's in the pool imagine her getting stuck in the drain at the bottom. . Nasty cow...

RobertaBeckett · 19/05/2025 20:44

She's rude but you gotta stop talking about it

Dawnb19 · 19/05/2025 20:52

I don't know anyone that keeps to their diet on holiday. Enjoy your holiday and you can diet later.
Congratulations on your weight loss though.

If you make your diet plan and weight a topic of conversation it invites people to comment on it. Only very rude people would comment like this though, she is a cow.

Well done for losing weight though and don't let it throw you off. You're on holiday and nobody can resist Boursin in the sunshine.

Your sil was nasty.

But don't ever talk about your weight and dieting even if asked. It's so boring and opens you up for comments and even criticism.
