So I had my older sister and her husband over. Along with our other sister and parents.
Older sister BEGGED for me to make my spag bol. My version is her fav meal. I said of course. Now we in no way make authentic spag bol. We like it with a hint of chilli plus we add in two cans of chopped tomatoes but don’t like it too tomato-y. More of the meat flavour. I kind of cook out the taste of the tomato. Not a fan of that zingy flavour in spag bol. We also prefer cheddar cheese sprinkled on top (had Parmesan available for BIL).
Anyway, as it was reducing down BIL comes back from the offy. I was just adjusting seasonings. He takes a bite. Says it needs more tomato and chucks in a whole load of wine. Didn’t even ask! It was tasting amazing until he did that. So fucking rude. Who the hell does he think he is? We are friendly but not best pals or anything.
It was impossible to cook the alcohol taste out as he put in so much. BIL who is a know it all said that’s the authentic way so it’s fine.
People had very small portions and did not finish their plates. There was a lot leftover and usually there is not even a scrap left.
