Just that really. Not sure which to go with, the anaesthetic is Fentynl I believe, which I don't like the thought of but everyone I've spoken to says gas and air isn't enough.

I had fentanyl. Wasn't really aware I'd had it. Felt totally aware of what was going on, relaxed, no pain. Didn't feel at all 'drugged'.

I had one with a nurse's hand to squeeze if it hurt. It didn't hurt at all and it's fascinating watching the screen.

Why on earth would you have a GA for such a minor procedure? If removing large polyps then ok but for a bog standard procedure it's OTT

The gastroenterologist won't know until he/she gets in there whether there are any large polyps to remove!

I’m due to have one after a ct scan found a problem with my bowel. I have a pre-appointment consultation booked and then they’ll send me the date for the procedure. I’m absolutely bricking it. Please can you calm me down and/or offer advice? TIA

I’m having one tomorrow morning, so currently going through the prep. It’s odd as I don’t feel ill, I’m just stuck on the loo. No stomach ache, just a ridiculous amount or gurgling noises. The laxative I had was Picolax (apparantly there’s a couple of different ones). It tastes of warm orange sherbet so not as disgusting as I was led to believe. I am hungry though!

I will definitely be opting for all the drugs at everyone’s insistence! I’ve also got Wype toilet paper gel to use instead of wet wipes.

I’ve had loads with gas and air but last one was awful - subsequently found I had a large mass on my ovary which explained the pain but any future ones I want to be fully asleep

Ended up with Entonox and was absolutely fine, although tbf nurse advised they were only going 'half way'.
I have chronic diarrhoea and the prep was no worse than any given day of the week tbh. Tasted like shit tho.
