Lump on arm, not going to see the doctor

I have a hard lump on the outside of my arm. It's just happened and I feel like it's got bigger over the past week. Didn't notice it before. Sounds like a cyst. Aibu not to go to the doctor?

Go. Don't go. Nobody on here really cares, and you don't seem to so... You just do you I guess

Because it's under the skin. It's not visible. Only feel it..

If its changed that quickly it sounds like it might be a boil. Not a big deal if dealt with promptly but it does need dealing with quite promptly.

YABU/YANBU is irrelevant. If its a boil its just stupid not to get it checked and dealt with.

Does it feel stuck or does it move? It's probably nothing but I'd be getting advice to be honest

You have agency, OP, and you can do whatever you like. You don't need to seek permission from strangers on the internet. Just make your own choice - whatever you do/don't do is fine.

It’s completely up to you what you do.

For all the people saying they know someone who had the same and it was something terrible, there will be others (like me) who had the same and it was a cyst.

If you can get in to see someone they will have a feel and give you a better idea.

It’s up to you though.

Are you scared OP? If so, then you need to conquer it and take that 1st step. Afterwards, it gets much easier and when you are told the outcome, whether good news or not, you are always relieved to have got at this stage where something can be done if needed rather than worrying more and more with the u known whilst potentially making the situation much more worse. Can you talk to someone about it in RL?

Of course you are being unreasonable. The vast majority of the time lumps are harmless but you should always see a doctor if one seems to be growing. If you are really reluctant to go draw around it and see how much it is growing.

I can't understand why you wouldn't go to the doctor. It is most likely a cyst or lipoma, but noone here can diagnose it for you. It could be sarcoma and it could spread if untreated. If I was you I'd go to the doctor, but it's your choice.

I noticed the same thing on outer arm after getting a particular nasty virus one month ago. Think it's lymph nodes? Have you been ill recently? I'm not concerned, but there is no harm in getting it checked out. In fact it's probably sensible.

YABU. Most lumps turn out to be benign; but if it isn't you have a better chance at a good outcome if its treated early.

Where is it on your arm? if its near your wrist could it be a ganglion? I had this early 20's harmless. Old fashioned medical advice was whack it with the 'Family bible' I went to the docs who confirmed that was still the treatment. We do have a 'family bible' it's massive and not in my possession imagine 2 old fashioned yellow pages. I did nothing and it just went away.

They don’t recommend you do this anymore.

I have one on my wrist. I can push it in but it just slowly pops back out. I had an ultrasound to confirm it was a ganglion cyst.

OP, by the sounds of it I think you should definitely get that checked out.
