Was my colleagues comment about my lunch weird?

Male colleague who I’ve not spoken to much (I only joined this team a month ago).

He overheard me and another colleague discussing what we had for lunch - I said curry as that was the main meal in the restaurant today.

He said he bets my boyfriend won’t thank me as there will be some movement in the sheets tonight (referring to wind..)

My BF thinks he was only joking and I’m being uptight. I find it creepy though…

It’s a fart joke. Not my taste, but not a problem.

Well, it’s more of a fart-sex joke, really, given that it extends to mildly fnar fnar imaginings about what is happening ing between the OP’s bedsheets.

Gross and inappropriate.

Yes, weird, unnecessarily personal and a bit creepy. Why did his brain go anywhere near thinking about you being in bed with your boyfriend? Totally unprofessional.

What a weirdo. He doesn't really know you nor your boyfriend which makes it creepy. If you both knew him well he would just have been puerile and not funny.

Actually in my job that sort of comment would be deemed highly inappropriate and unprofessional. It would warrant being hauled in front a manager and rightly so. There is no need for that level of crude and personal comment in the workplace.

Ah yeah, but neither you or her manager have to sit beside her for the afternoon afterwards.... 😂

P.s. grabs coat & leaves 😉

That’s the kind of comment you just leave a silence after, and say ‘Ok, the adults in the room will get on with our work, Bernard.’

Or if you know he’s an idiot rather than a very very clumsy one off you go down the sorry say that again I don’t understand, oh you are saying I’ll break wind? Right why’s that funny?
