Was this reasonable “compensation” ?

Hi all,

This isn’t a big deal but I’m just curious if it was reasonable compensation for the situation.

I got my eyelashes done on Thursday of last week with a new lash tech, they were classic lashes and cost £60 by Monday they were all just fully gone ( so they lasted four days and they are meant to
last between 2-4 weeks). I’ve had lashes in the past and haven’t done anything differently this time so it wasn’t an aftercare issue and it’s nothing I’ve done that’s caused it.

I messaged the lash tech and she was like I have no explanation for it, it’s literally never happened but I’ll knock £10 off your next set (absolutely not going back anyway haha).

Do you think this is a reasonable offer?

I’m not going to do anything about it, the £60 is gone it’s whatever but I’m just curious to what others think.

I’d expect a full refund.

Nope, not acceptable imo.

I'd expect to be booked in for a replacement set.

Notyourfaultbutmine · 14/05/2025 10:34

No, they need to be fully re-done, or a full refund offered.

Go in and stand in front of her so she can see!

get them re done as your compensation

I’d be expecting a correction for free AND £10 off the next set.

OtterlyMad · 14/05/2025 13:16

I would expect a full replacement set, free of charge.

You have SAD FART statutory rights - purchases must satisfy ALL of:
Satisfactory quality, As Described, Fit for purpose And last a Reasonable length of Time.

Your lashes clearly don't satisfy the "last a reasonable length of time" and if they were described as lasting 2-4 weeks then they were not "as described". You could also argue they were not "fit for purpose" and were not of "satisfactory quality".

You are legally entitled to a full refund.
