Nothing lasts forever - friendships, careers, even the things we love. At some point, everything runs its course and trying to force it past its natural end just makes things worse.

Do you agree or is that too pessimistic? Have you ever held onto something past its “expiration date” and regretted it?

I thought this was going to be about cutting mouldy bits off cheese! Yes you're right unfortunately, assuming you're including death to be a natural end?

Theres the saying that some relationships are for a reason, a season, or a lifetime and I truly believe that.

Haha, not cheese this time - though I’ve done the mouldy bit trick too! And yes, I meant it in the bigger life sense: people, roles, even identities sometimes. Just wondering how others deal with that quiet expiry moment when something’s no longer serving you.

Life’s a fluid ever changing pattern and it’s best to go with the flow. Some things can last all your life but they do change. Many things come and go and clinging to them makes you unhappy.
