To be anxious about DD

DD(6) came home from school Friday and said she had a bad belly and felt full all day so hadn't eaten much. This has lasted all weekend, she is eating, but less than half of what she usually would (have tried her with all her favourites). It's worth noting that she often complains of a bad stomach though it rarely seems to bother her. We had a stool sample tested a couple of months ago and it was all clear.

She is playing as normal, she had a long day out yesterday and still went to play with friends when we got home. She seems fine in herself, though perhaps slightly quieter. No fever, no other concerning symptoms though she does look like she has less colour in her face.

I'm not sure whether she is fighting some sort of stomach bug, whether the heat os affecting her (a lot of outdoor play and it's been very sunny though she has worn a hat). It's also been her birthday weekend so she was very over excited.

I know you're not doctors! But has anyone experienced similar? Would you give it a little longer before calling the Dr or take her asap? Not sure what, if anything a Dr could do for her really. She is eating, it's just so much less.

Thank you if you made it this far!

I had something similar last year, I just felt really full for some reason. It lasted about four days.

I didn't have any other symptoms, just didn't feel like eating

(To be honest I kind of liked it, a reason to lose a couple of pounds!)

@coxesorangepippin thank you so much for responding so quickly. It's a relief to think it may just be a little bug that will pass soon. Yes I could certainly do with that full feeling, I'm forever hungry 😅 hate seeing it in my DD though, she's already just naturally a skinny little thing.

May well be heat plus nervous excitement around the birthday. Could she be dehydrated?

My son is 5 and not eating as much this week, I'm wondering if it's the heat and maybe being a bit bored of his staples but unwilling/anxious of trying other foods (he's autistic and we're working on this!) I'm hoping it's just a phase as we've had it before and usually after a few days / a week he's kind back in his food groove.

Thank you all so much for responding, it's so nice to get opinions from other people. Google is my worst enemy and I have a tendency to be overly anxious about my children. I'll keep a close eye on her over the next few days and hopefully she'll start to get hungrier

Has she been tested for coeliac?

My little ones just been the exact same unsure if it was a bug! Finally picking up now but seemed to take a good 5-7 days to get my normal toddler back

I’d assume constipation or indigestion. Make sure she’s drinking and so long as she’s eating don’t worry at this stage.
