BEST Inclusive UK destinations (particularly southern seaside)

I’m filling our summer holidays with lots of shorter breaks (3-4 days) and looking for a couple down south. We live up north.

Im wanting traditional seaside, plenty to do, ice cream shops and good easy food choices. Beaches and swimming. DH is a bit of a snob has high standards so somewhere a bit ‘naice’ but we have a 4 year old DD and a non verbal, high needs ASD DS… so somewhere we won’t be starred at whilst he’s bouncing around shoeless and half naked would be fabulous.

Open to all suggestions but particularly interested in Devon/Cornwall areas

YHA have some good locations on south coast. Treyarnon Bay is really nice. You can get family rooms at YHA & don’t need to book a full week. Some have a games area, bar, lounge & you can get a breakfast similar to the one at Premier Inn. You might find it better than a hotel.

I think I’d go for a high end cottage if I were you. Somewhere outside of St Ives or Padstow. Easy access to nicer high end restaurants, you could get Ocado or Waitrose to deliver a weekly shop to keep you in essentials. Use deliveroo to get breakfast delivered. Make it into your own hotel without the stress. Sounds lovely to me!

It’s a long drive to Devon & Cornwall in the summer holidays, particularly on weekends when the M5 turns into a giant non moving car park. If I was going down there in August, I would want to go for longer than 3-4 days, just to cope with the journeys.

In terms of location, I always prefer the beaches on the north coast of both counties. We’ve stayed in Bude before which is much less hectic than, for example, Newquay. There are several beaches in Bude, or Widemouth bay is a very short drive away & is huge and not overcrowded even in summer. I also really love Woolacombe & Croyde and the beaches in that area, it is stunning.

If Wales is another option - then Pembroke is absolutely stunning. There are many beautiful, much less crowded places there to explore all around the coastline. I really liked Little Haven, but have always meant to visit Tenby which looks beautiful in the pictures. The Gower peninsula near Swansea is also amazing for beaches.
