Anyone else? Is it hormones? DS has only just turned 9, he’s always been a bit of a Debbie downer since about age 5-6, but gee whizz!

So negative about everything. Nothing pleases him except gaming or so it feels.

Yoyve never heard of gaming addiction, look into it. I'd copy paste Google but risk being called a bot

I think it can be hormones. Mine is 10 but springs to life when I get him involved in other stuff like gaming with me, table football, gardening etc

@toomuchfaff he has an hour max on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays! He also likes TV, basically he’s lazy who would rather be slobbing out than doing much else. He has plenty of other interests, Lego, reading. But he will choose screens above all. My youngest isn’t bothered!

Does he do much sport?

Saycheeseburgers · 04/05/2025 10:45

@ToKittyornottoKitty an hour most days, other than swimming which is 30 mins, but other sports he does are 1.5 hours so I would say it averages out to an hour a day. Plus we walk the mile to school each day. He’s not much good at most sports and he’s probably becoming more aware of that (he is lazy, doesn’t like to push himself but also doesn’t have good coordination, to be fair) but enjoys the social aspect of the activities he goes to and is usually happy after. I have tried to suggest the huge range of other activities we have available that aren’t sport related - chess club, art club, drama, singing, dance etc etc.

Endorphin rush from doing a team sport he likes might lighten his mood?
