Ok this should be called AIBU to use this most active chat to get the most advice.
I’d like to be clear i’m absolutely not looking for permission or for someone to sway me. I’m looking for genuine help please.
So i’m stuck in Spain with my 17 month old. I came out here with my husband and baby for a 3 night break while our eldest two were at home with relatives. Our baby came down with chicken pox the day before we were due to fly. I’m very very very aware the dangers of chicken pox to the vulnerable so there was no way I wanted to cover him up and fly because IMO that’s just utterly selfish.
Our insurance co have been absolutely catastrophic to the point where I am still quite traumatised about the fact they left me stranded for three hours literally on the street with a poorly baby because of their f*ck up.
Fast forward and we’ve got our fit to fly certificate and flights being booked for
Sunday with the insurer.
I was cleaning babies hands at lunch when to my utter horror, one of his original red spots that didn’t blister, HAS STARTED TO BLISTER. I am literally beside myself. I’ve read so much conflicting info. Airline says 7 days after last spots have appeared which yes we fall into that category however an OG spot is now blistered. The blister fluid i’m sure is contagious??? I am so shocked this has happened. I didn’t think it would blister 8 days later!!!
What the hell am I supposed to do here? This has really thrown me and I don’t know what to do because advice online is so conflicting and I don't dare ask my insurers because they’ve been abhorrent so far.
Has anyone had experience of this? I don’t know where to turn or what to do?!
Thank you
