Neighbour’s visitors parking on my driveway

For a while now my next door neighbour’s visitor’s have been parking on my driveway.

We didn’t mind once or twice but it has become a regular occurrence and happens when DH is mainly at work (he has the only car in household).

Im in the process of buying my own car and in the meantime I have put planters there now so nobody can park.
It is a bit of a hassle for DH as he has to move the planters every night.

The neighbour has took the funnies since I put the planters there.

AIBU?

What an utter cockwomble, @Badbadbunny! Did he stop in the end? If not, you could coat his windows in sudocrem - that would be an absolute beggar to wash off, but wouldn't do any damage.

Trap the car on your drive way....

This!! Go on!

You really don’t- it’s just wrong to park on someone else’s drive.

(I think this is a wee joke linked to another thread about CF neighbours and parking. There was a fantastic diagram, deeds and everything!)

Only if the car is damaged, I believe. Though it might be different from country to country.

My other suggestion was going to be to slash their tyres, so I went with the least criminal option. 😄

But then they’d be stuck on your drive for longer?! Towing on first occurrence seems a bit extreme IMO…

Plmnki · 06/05/2025 22:16

Sorry why are you being so feeble.. ?

if she wanted to sit in on your sofa would you allow that? Why did you allow this occur? Lesson is this - If it had been firnly dealt with on day one, then you wouldn’t have this issue now.

it is YOUR PROPERTY.

the neighbour has no right to be on it. I cannot understand why British people are so amazingly wet in these situations.

Endorewitch · 06/05/2025 22:44

Why put planters?A bit passive/aggressive!
Better to have a chat telling your neighbours not to do it.
A friendly chat would sort it.

Allseeingallknowing · 06/05/2025 23:10

That’s very naive and optimistic! Unfortunately, a friendly chat probably won’t work. If they’re the sort of ignorant, thoughtless people who encourage their visitors to park on your property they won’t respond well to a polite request not to! Speaking from experience.
Anyway the OP has already asked them not to do it, with no luck!

It’s not a first occurrence for the OP though, they’ve been doing it even though she asked them not to.

They’re taking the piss right out her.

Agree with this. Backbone nowhere to be found.

Block the arsehole in the next time they do it. Then when they come to the door to ask you to move, answer with a bottle of vodka in your hand and tell them they’ll need to wait a day or so.

Beautifulweeds · 08/05/2025 17:09

What a CF after you asked you her not to do it! She's got the message now lol 😆

ImGoneUnderground · 09/05/2025 22:23

They are actually parking on your drive?? WTF? Your property, your insurance if any damage to your property (or, so very unfortunately, by an unfortunate accident, such as a paint splash, block of wood with nails on it, left just behind their car??) etc - I would take photos every time they do this and present them in a nice folder with maybe a copy of this thread? I believe that such CFs have some kind of imaginary mind block about how to behave in society these days. Good luck x URNBU
